Todays generation, national costume only worn during big events. I fully disagree with the idea that wearing it national costume everyday.
Wearing the national costume everyday is somehow not suitable in this modern days. Though it symbolizes culture for what we are and where we came from, but it doesn’t mean that it is needed to wear. We have t -shirts and polo’s to wear now. Wearing those polo’s and shirts are very comfortable and it is very easy to suit. And besides of that, making a national costume is a lot more apparel to use and cost very expensive because of the time spent on making in it. Also, it is very easy to wash those shirts rather than the national costume.
We can’t deny that the national costume is important, but we also need to think in every cases. We are not in a 17th century or 18th century era, we are in a 21st century. Where wearing the national costume everyday, people will think that you are fool or stupid. They even also critic you and bully you. These days, wearing the national costume can be seen in the really big events like, SONA, Buwan ng Wika, or even in competition. It’s very rare that as a citizen wear a national costume everyday. Aside from the President of the country.
In conclusion, I prefer to wear these t-shirts everyday than the national costume. For the reason that, it is very convenient and also, it is very affordable.
