Today I want to talk a little bit about what happens when animals are abandoned? While some people still give pets on holidays or as a gift, other animals are not having a good day being abandoned to their fate, this type of issue generates a lot of noise to me, because animals in a way for some people have the value of an object and it is not so, they are beings that feel, beings that are just like a person and suffer the same or worse, the difference is that they do not reason, their way of communicating is different but this does not make them have the value of an object, which I can give and then discard.
If we take seriously that these animals have a much more sentimental value than anything else, then we would take into account who we give a pet to. I have seen how underage children are given a dog, the problem is not that, it is the lack of awareness of the parents, because the child will not always be aware of the dog and much less will know how to take care of it in the right way, then as parents we must be more aware of what is given.
I would like to share with you a series of photos, each one of them are animals that once had a place in a family. For us as caregivers, promoters and educators of animals it hurts us to see how every day pets are discarded to the streets, the reasons are different later I will mention some, in any case it is worth reflecting and psychoeducate society, to avoid that every day there are fewer animals on the streets and have more a home where they can live in harmony for the rest of their lives is all a goal for us.
He is "Trapo" a sweet puppy that was found wandering around in a canteen in the city, he is just 1 year old, although he looks older he is very young, when he was located we had to count with more than 20 people, it was a very complete operation, the reason? It is obvious, animals like people at the time they are abandoned experience a sense of abandonment, their behaviour changes and adapts to the environment in which they live, so it is easy to see when a dog that has been living for a long time on the streets, is very aggressive at the time of capture.
Our animal medicine specialists have a very thorough job in diagnosing each captured animal, so we can have a clear idea of what the animal has been ingesting for so long, the lack of nutrients and good nutrition. Each and every one of these examinations that are carried out have a purpose, to know if the animal is healthy both physically and organically is essential for us, then we start from this data to proceed with a good routine for the animal.
Being able to protect and care for these animals allows us to have greater control over them, preventing them from causing damage in the streets, diseases and other things. Yes, it is true that when an animal lives in the open, it has a high probability of suffering from a disease, perhaps for the animal it does not have major consequences but perhaps for us humans it does. That is why it is so important to keep our streets free of free-roaming animals.
What do you think an animal feels when it is no longer in its place of comfort? Probably the same thing happens to them as to all of us, we feel uneasy, when we take a pet that has lived almost all its life with a family, where it only knows the house and the yard of that house, then it wakes up one day and is in a completely strange place, alone and has nowhere to go because it does not know anything, Maybe at that moment that animal feels as sad as we humans do when we lose something we love, that same feeling of loss is felt by them, but a, a dog in this case is known for its unconditional love, they are very unconditional beings, imagine how they suffer, at least for me it breaks my soul, this is one of the reasons why every day I wake up and think that it is another day where I can help another animal. You don't know the satisfaction I feel when I can do this, it's not worth having money, it's not worth being powerful, if we don't have humanity. In summary of account, nothing is worth the material but, a pet that is for you at all times, that can accompany you at any time, play and enjoy almost any moment at his side, only that is willing to give you what a dog is willing to give you.
this beautiful one in this picture, he was nicknamed "Mancha" luckily he was found in time at the right moment, he was alone in a building construction that could get hurt at any moment, this is what I am talking about, these animals don't know which is a good place to stay, they just want to have a roof and warmth, they don't care where and many times it ends in tragedy for these innocent animals, in other cases they end up causing some damage and it is worse, because those people affected mistreat them.
Mancha, this puppy is very playful and has a lot of energy, he runs most of the day and wants to play constantly, luckily for him, he already has a home, my daughter decided to keep him, she wants to take care of him and feed him, also my two grandchildren are now grown up, they are teenagers and feel that they can take care of a pet by themselves, now well, is it beneficial to take care of an animal by itself? In adolescence there are many changes, in young people today we see so many negative things that as parents we sometimes overprotect our children too much, but yes, it is good that they have a pet, it will teach them to have character, it will put into practice that instinct, whether maternal or paternal and so they can also have an unconditional friend.
After my children is "brow" a poodle of almost 9 years old, a grandfather, father and spoiled, the personality of a dog often resembles so much to its owner that can leave us open mouthed, in the case of Brow, is totally to me is pure love and is always very attentive to anything. On the other hand, Brow's story was not always rosy, I adopted this dog, when I saw him for the first time I knew he was going to be mine. He was in the street and he kept breaking rubbish bags to eat, Brow was very scared, he would let me come closer than 5 metres away and he wouldn't eat anything I put in front of him, it was very difficult to gain his trust. I don't know what this animal had to go through, what I do know is that it was very traumatic and left very big marks, it took me almost a year to be able to have a good relationship with this dog that today is one more at my table. If it were up to me I would adopt all the animals I find, but obviously I can't. I don't have the land or the money. I don't have the land or the money to provide for so many animals, so every day I do my bit for the animals.
There are as many cats as there are pardon me, all because many cats were abandoned and others decided to leave their homes in search of new lands. Consequently all these cats, in the case of the females are not sterilized, producing like a factory an enormous quantity of cats, turning into a plague by its overpopulation, to be able to stop these numbers and to avoid that animals like the cat continues in ascent of reproduction is more work of us humans than of the same cats.
Cats tend to reproduce very easily and the survival rate is high, so basically yes, these conditions make the cat a pest.
I wanted to share with you a picture of "Catira" a cat that came to my house never to leave again, Catira just gave birth, the good news is that I decided to keep the cats, another excellent news is that this cat will not be able to reproduce anymore. Neutering as a method to prevent these cats from reproducing is very important. It is not that we hate animals, no, because we love them we should take care of them with ungenerous measures.
These two beautiful cats are mother and daughter, these cats were looking for a home, until yesterday, to be able to find a family that is committed to take care of an animal, is gratifying, also that they can have a home where they are cared for and protected fills me with great joy, these animals as I mentioned before, are exposed to so many diseases in the streets and vulnerable to die from being run over or malnutrition. These are just some of the causes that these animals suffer daily and end up dying.
For several weeks these two cats were under my care and protection, knowing that tomorrow they will have a home makes me a little sad, in a way we get attached to the animals, the hardest thing is to be able to accept when they leave.
To be able to help and serve as a tool to protect the survival of different species has a great value for me, for years I have worked directly with these animals, I would like them all to get a home but it is not at all easy.
Just as the sun shines every day and my daily wishes light the way for many animals, it fills me with faith and hope. I hope to have many more days to continue caring for animals as kind and generous as dogs and cats.
Hello..i LOVE your post...
