When I was in middle School our teacher always ask us to write an essay on topics like the national animal, the national bird, the national festival and the culture of various groups.I love my country Pakistan and also my culture and i always write an essay about my culture, my nation, my strength, my pride.

From 1947 to 2019, from Quaid-E-Aazam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to Imran Khan from the old cultural races and values to this brand new world from Morat Watering Karasi to the sweet DESI BIRYANIS. From MOHENJO-DARO to GILGIT BALTISTAN the glowing of beauty is spread everywhere.

1: Pakistani culture is very diverse

The city of Islamabad which is centrally located in the country was officially named the capital of Pakistan in 1961 and construction began on government buildings in addition to others. Islamabad became the active capital in 1966. In addition to modern government buildings it also features a wide variety of modern hotels, international airports, and the nearby famous other places and city of Rawalpindi.

Pakistan has a diverse culture humanities and geo-morphology. It attracted about 1 million foreign tourists in 2014 and contributed 94.8 billion Pakistani rupees to the country’s economy. Since the 1970's.The number of tourists in the country has been unprecedented due to the popularity of hippies. This is a significant decline since the 1970's. The main destinations chosen by these tourists are Khyber Pass, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Swat, Kaghan and Naran, Muri and the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

I may have not realized how much I value my culture if was not away from it. In my collage we have two functions in one academic year that are for representation of international diversity on campus. Hence we all get so excited for the International Festival.

We wear our traditional dresses, and dress in different cultural attires, just so that we can give justice to our cultural identity. When people ask us about any of our traditional practices we jump in with excitement to explain what it means and difference in this context is highly appreciated.

If I was not far away from home I would care less about dressing in a sari for the international festival or I would care less about wearing “Cholo and Fariya” to present myself in any international functions coming to a foreign land has accentuated the value of my culture. This is probably because the only way we can distinct we in this place filled with people from all parts of the world is through our culture.

Our norms and traditions become our identification and it is the need to stand out that pushes us further. So exposing the variation and diversity of our roots makes us proud to be who we are. Even though we may have not realized it when we were writing that essay in middle school for mere points, we do realize it now that in a foreign land our identity rests upon our culture and pride is what we get when we portray it exuberantly. Therefore, I can honestly say Our culture, Our Pride.

Pakistanis love listening to and making music

Diverse culture has exposed Pakistani musicians to many different poetic forms and styles along with languages and literature.

Qawwali and Ghazal are the nation’s auditory treasures. Building on that, Pakistani TV shows, like Coke Studio, have amassed millions of fans internationally and locally, from non-Pakistanis to non-Urdu speakers. The nation has also produced legendary singers, like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and poets like Faiz Ahmed Faiz, who have left a tremendous influence on the culture and the collective conscience of the people. Contemporary musicians too play with modern styles and develop fusions in the Urdu language, of blues, funk, rock and jazz.

Family bonds are strong in Pakistan

Family comes first in Pakistan due to religious, cultural, economic and societal values. Pakistani society is not led by individualism but rather by collectivism where family and other relationships stand strong.

Pakistani culture includes excellent craftsmanship

Pakistani truck art is not the only world famous example of craftsmanship. Passed down through generations, Pakistani craft includes a plethora of styles, materials and aesthetics. Calligraphy in Arabic is one of the most prominent skills found in many local buildings and sites and wall hangings, like copper work, paintings and carved wood. Pottery, especially blue pottery, typical of Sindh and Multan, is loved all over the world for its look. Naqashi, or the art making of camel-skin lamps, is another example of local craft, along with colourful tile work, which is a Mughal legacy.

Pakistanis love sports, especially cricket

Cricket may have been a sport that was introduced to Pakistan by the British but today the country has not only made it its own but has also raised one of the world’s best cricket teams. Other sports, like hockey, squash and badminton, are also widely played and appreciated. Polo has a special place in northern Pakistan too, with one of the highest polo grounds in the world situated here.
