Hello, once again beautiful people and my esteemed viewers in the house. I can not forget to say Hi to my amazing subscribers. From where ever you are reading this post, I take it you're in good and sound health. I must remind you of the need to always take matters of your health seriously.
It is my second article on this platform and in the previous which was an introductory article, I made mention that we shall be seeing how to make ginger drinks. And in line with keeping to the promise, I will be showing you how you can make ginger drinks from the confines of your homes. If you are so interested then, let jump right in.
We have known ginger for a long time. Everyone knows ginger. However, if you're in doubt about how ginger looks like then look at this photo,
In the photo above, ginger is lying on the table, on the left-hand side of your screen. Yes, you get that now. Ginger is central to what we will be making today ( the ginger drink). Okay, before we begin you should get these items:
Ginger
Mortar and piston or any crusher
A sieve
Knife
A bowl of water
Flavor (juice flavor)
Extra bowls
A glass cup or any cup of choice
Are you ready? Let's begin! I'm going to be doing this in steps;
•Get some ginger. The quantity of juice to be extracted is according to the quantity and quality of the ginger.
•Now, put your ginger in a bowl of water to rinse off any mud or dirt.
Get yourself a comfortable chair because some serious work is about to begin. Now, gently scrape off the skin of the ginger. You know ginger usually have some twists and contour. So, take note and be sure to remove the skins around and between contours.
After peeling off every skin on each ginger, put them in a clean bowl and wash thoroughly.
Put them in the mortar or crusher and crush them until you can squeeze them with your hands.
Hold on, did you wash your hands before starting? Okay, wash it again now, then, pack out the crushed ginger into a clean bowl. If you are using a bowl or two then, you will have to be cleaning after each process before use for another process.
Your crushed ginger is in the bowl. Add a jar of water or glasses of water to the crushed ginger in the bowl.
We are about to begin the extraction. Okay, now, squeeze like a baby trying to collect the last drops of milk from his/her mama's breast.
Squeeze until nothing is coming out from the chaff anymore. Do you have a yellowish concentrate that tends to float then settle at the bottom of the bowl? Nice! You have just done a good job.
Get a clean stirrer and stir. Now, put a little to the tongue and taste it. Tell me, how does it taste? Hot? Yeah, that's how it should be but you can choose how you want it whether hot(pepperish), moderately, or less by varying the volume of water. I will advise that you should leave all addition of water until you are done. Just be adding controlled measures like a quarter glass during the squeezing stage.
Alright, we are almost done. Add your flavor to the concentrate or extracted ginger juice and stir thoroughly. Flavors have different tastes and colors so choose according to what you prefer.
Hey, taraaan! The Ginger drink is ready.
Hold on! Does it taste too strong and you don't like it that hard strong? You can simply add some more water to slacken the hardness.
What more! Put it in the refrigerator to get cool or you can start drinking it straight away. Serve in glasses to friends and family. You have just made them a drink that their hearts and body would say thank you to.
Ops, it can looks good but I'm not fun of ginger haha, although I know it gives a lot of benefits.
