KINGDOM OF THE WORLD
Maybe you know the Tondo of Manila? Do you hear it? This is often linked to chaos or bad news.
But have you heard of the history of this former kingdom?
Prior to the arrival of the Spanish conquerors in the Philippines, there was a kingdom known today as Tondo.
This place is named after the World, Tundun, Tundok, Lusung, Tung-lio and the Central Empire.
The kingdom is said to have covered the road along the coast of the Pasig River to Bulacan and Pampanga.
The ancient seaport was in front of Tondo, Manila Bay.
Since then, the country has traded with Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia and China. The kingdom of Tondo is believed to be rich. But if you look at it now it seems that there is no trace of the kingdom left in Tondo.
According to the report, in Tondo is one of the poorest communities in the Philippines.
Tondo is far from Tondo now, the center of Trade led by Lakan Dula
In May 1571 Miguel Lopez de Legazpi arrived in the Philippines, the ambassador of Spain to take over Manila. Despite his ability, Lakan Dula did not fight the invaders. Meanwhile, his brother Raha Soliman, who had a kingdom on the other side of the river, fought against the Spaniards.
Lakandula worked with the Spaniards, baptized as a Catholic and named Don Carlos Lacandola, this was the beginning of Christianity's introduction into the country.
1572 Legazpi died, 1575 Lakandula.
There was an uprising of Filipino ancestors in the past to regain independence and Political Power that the Spaniards had seized.
There was a movement called 'World War' in 1587-1588.
The dukes of Bulacan, Navotas, Malabon, Palawan, leaders from Borneo and datu from Batangas to recapture the freedom that Lakandula surrendered to the invaders. But the movement was crushed by the Spaniards, one of whom was arrested. Dragged, hung and beheaded. Heads are being used to warn those who want to fight against the Spanish government.
Prof. Sofronio The Spaniards wrongly misinterpreted the Filipinos in the past. It should be noted that the photographs of the Datu are only slightly overlaid. Whereas the normal and royal Filipinos used to wear nice clothes. The Spaniards allegedly described the 'savage' as saying they were the reason for the civilization of the Philippines which was wrong because before they arrived the Datu people were already rich and capable of buying elaborate clothing.
Even then, the Datu's divisive leadership caused the Philippines to fall into the hands of the invaders. Lakan Dula's refusal has been the door for the Spaniards to enter and occupy the Philippines.
