All physically sound and fit humans possess ears. We've inherently possessed this organ from birth so seem to be oblivious to the internal parts of the ear since it performs it's functions involuntarily. Lemme use this opportunity to throw more light on the ear as a sense organ.

The ear is a sense organ which allows hearing. This organ has three divisions and these are the outer ear, middle ear and the inner ear. The outer ear consists of the pinnae which is the external structure we see on a person. The pinnae accumulates sound into the auditory canal which is a tube which directs sound into the ear drum. The ear drum turns the sound into vibrations.

The middle ear consists of ear ossicles(hammer, anvil and stirrup). Those in parentheses are the ear bones. The middle ear also consists of semi-circular canals. The semi circular canal aids in movement. It consists of fluid which allows the head to balance itself in movement.

Finally, the inner ear consists of cochlea which turns the vibrations into impulses which are sent to the brain by the auditory nerves from the cochlea for interpretation.
