Permanent Solution for Temporary Problems: Suicide?

0 33

Life — God's Precious Gift (Psalm 139:14).

Life is a present from Heaven, indeed. We ought to take care of it, we ought to steward it, and we ought to treasure it. Why does someone commit suicide, though? Why will they trifle away such precious life although it is, in actuality, an unforgivable sin? Doesn't it? That people who kill themselves won’t get into the subtle and beautiful place of heaven.

Everyone can agree that suicide is a sin because it involves the unauthorized taking of human life. Some suicides are impulsive acts caused by stress such as financial or academic difficulties. But, does suicide a permanent solution to a temporary problem? Can anybody ever have a legitimate reason to commit suicide? Or rather, I'm wondering, "can it ever be morally permissible to commit self-murder?"

I heard on the news report that some students recently took their own lives due to the implementation of a new learning system protocol in the country, new normal as they call it. With intense sorrow, suffering, and remorse about what happened to their beloved member of the family, their whole family is surely struggling. And it's dreary and heartbreaking to know that they took their own lives only because of the pressures of school and schooling.

They said that the reason for the occurrence of these incidents was the pressure from the plethora of activities, worksheets, and written projects that should be carried out in a short and deficient period given to the students. For students, isn't that a burden? Giving them a handful of tasks just because they were in their house? Is studying in their own house different from studying in a school or university?

I supposed that now's the time to answer those questions I asked myself. Suicide will and should never be considered as a solution to any problem. The quote is mendacious, suicide will never be the solution for a temporary problem. There's no good reason to commit a self-murder. It's much easier to find the right answer than tossing your life for nonsense reasons. Killing yourself will add more difficulties and burdens on those you have left, and for the rest of their lives, they will continuously blame themselves for what you have done to yourself.

But how about those who already committed self-slaughter you may ask? We don't have to worry about them because, considering what they have done with their incomparable gift, God will support and welcome them. And if we accept that Christ sacrificed himself to take care of any sin, the sin of committing the murder is no different from every other sin. Suicide is horrific and heartbreaking, yes — but it's not unforgivable.

In addition, having a hard time studying as a student is common and a part of the process. As a student, it is an unavoidable part of life. If you're having trouble or difficulty with your tasks and duties, just ask someone to hold your hands for you. Ask for support and assistance from them. Your family and friends will always be there to direct and support you, including your teachers.

Our life ought to be like a camera. We just have to concentrate on what is pleasing and important to us. We're meant to neglect the negative and catch the good times. Delete it if things still don't work out, and be ready for another chance. We're not like cats, we only have one life to complete and go through, so until the very end, we must live our lives to the fullest.

"We only live once, but if we do it right, once is enough." – Mae West
