Is it really art? or is it just another foolish work that is backed up by humor.
The 'Fountain" by Marcel Duchamp was created in 1917 and was replicated later in 1964. It was one of the most famous pieces of art in the twentieth century.
The works of Duchamp’s is really witty, it is an art of representation. As you can see in the photo, it depicts a very simple thing but it is somehow considered an art. It came to a conclusion that it is an art because of the philosophy in this. From what you can see it is just a porcelain urinal with a few painted words on its side but due to the fact that is still been shown in art exhibition Knowing that a simple thing that is already have been made with a little of words embodied to it, was able to be considered as art. It is an art because it baffles the mind of the philosophers, theorists, artists, and the people who see it, making them confused and question what is really an art and why is it considered as one.
As neo-representational theorized claims that, art is anything that is about something so, the works of Duchamp’s “Fountain” is somehow suited in that definition; he created art that is not art but its objective is to give something to be confusing and that makes it an art. The resolve of this art is that it breaks the barriers of how people think of art. Art is everywhere not just a painting, abstract art, or sculpture, but also the intellectual capabilities of a person that can make art.
The photo depicts an engaging thing, but it is somehow considered an art. I concluded that it is an art because of the philosophy behind it. It is just an ordinary urinal with few painted words on its side, but it is still being shown in art exhibitions. Knowing that a simple thing that has already been made with little words embodied in it was still considered as art. The resolve of this art is that it breaks the norms of how people see art, that art is everywhere not just a painting, abstract art, or sculpture, but also the intellectual capabilities of the person that represented as art.
What can you make as an art?
