In certain aspects, Blockchain, as a technology, is unparalleled. People are familiar with other peer-to-peer networks that are used for streaming music files and other things, but the ability of this form of network to have its own protection and services is something that was only implemented in 2008. It was only used for mining Bitcoins since the time the blockchain technology came into being.

But in recent years, it has, on its own, taken a common shape. This unique technology behind it, along with bitcoin making headlines, is being recognized. Developers who are intrigued by this mysterious technology are proposing new ways of bringing it into production to use and share their ideas.

Blockchain is seen by many as a groundbreaking technology that can upgrade old structures. Analysts have always noted the promise of this technology with confidence, looking at how Bitcoin has provided a more stable and open payment mechanism. This technology is being moulded by industries to develop cloud storage, smart contracts, crowdfunding, and even healthcare. Voter fraud is one of the main challenges that can be solved by the decentralized existence of the blockchain.

The misconception that voting can not be carried out safely online is altered by Blockchain technology. The technology ensures that only one unchangeable vote can be given by one person. There is no risk of fraud or voting twice, as every vote is permanently registered on the blockchain.

It is possible to define Blockchain as a distributed ledger. The infrastructure of the blockchain consists of nodes or peers. Throughout the method, they check, process and record all transactions. The system does not store any information, but rather exists on a "chain" that consists of millions of nodes. Encryption and decentralization are what make this technology so valued. Because of these features, it is impossible to corrupt every transaction and you can check any transaction ever made on the blockchain. There is no way for any party to pull down the network or tamper with it because it does not exist in one place.

The right fit for putting the voting process online is this sort of infrastructure. The voting system is still trapped in the last century due to a lack of protection, where one must leave their homes to vote and send paper ballots to a local authority. Some attempted to put this process online, but due to wide security holes, they were unsuccessful.

The most safe way to cast votes online can prove to be a blockchain-based voting system.

1. As any hacker who may have broken into the terminal will not have access to the other nodes, there is no question about the protection of the internet link.

2. Voters are allowed to keep full privacy and they are not required to report their identity or political views to the media.

3. The vote counting would be organic. Officials should be sure that only one vote will be assigned to each person ID. There is no way for the votes to be fake or tampered with.

In fact, many businesses are trying to incorporate this concept. Horizon State, which has implemented a digital ballot box that is a clever and cost-effective solution to the inefficiencies of the voting process of today, is one such type.

Instead of depending on politicians, Blockchain paves the way for direct democracy, where people have the power to determine their own course of policy. Although the rules of the existing electoral process must be updated in order to implement such a transparent method, blockchain is also suitable for directing general meetings, informing business decisions, censuses, and voting.

This technology is still in its blooming phase, but as it matures with young voters, it has the potential in the future to become a core component of the voting system.
