The English dictionary defines it as a "force or law or nature which causes one to reap what one sows."

It also means "destiny" or " fate."

It refers to cause and effect, actions as well as consequences of those actions.

The steps that you take at every given point in your life would most likely have consequences depending on whether the actions were good or bad.

Although, some persons have said that it doesn't always work like that; you mustn't have a bad result if you behave badly or have a good result if you do good deeds.

Karma is a principle of Hinduism and Buddhism which entails getting what you give.

From this, what you're giving is most likely what you get later on.

Some people have said;

"KARMA IS A BITCH"

This statement is not because Karma is evil but it's most likely just playing it's part.

For example, being mean and arrogant to people around you would mean that when you need help, most of those persons wouldn't want to help and you and some might go as far as using hurtful or cruel words on you because of how you treated them.

THE 12 LAWS OF KARMA

  1. The law of cause and effect - this is the concept of getting back what you put in.

So how much are you putting in if you want to get it or more back?

  2. The law of creation - this is you co-creating what you want as stated by Patel. She says it entails creating what will benefit you as well as others or people around you.

  3. The law of humility - How humble are you? You have to possess humility to accep that your current level is as a result of what you have done in the past.

  4. The law of growth - the real growth begins with you. The focus should be on you and not trying to control others.

  5. The law of responsibility- this is you taking responsibility for your actions. You are responsible for the choices you make.

  6. The law of connection - what you are today is as a result of what you did yesterday and what you will be tomorrow will be as a result of what you do today. This means the past, present and future are all connected.

  7. The law of focus - this law encourages one to focus on one thing at a time. Focusing on too many things at the same time could cause distractions.

  8. The law of giving and hospitality - the law helps you understand the importance of your actions. If you want peace, you have to give peace.

  9. The law of here and now - Focusing on the past could prevent you from moving forward. You need to let the past be in the past.

  10. The law of change - if you don't learn from previous mistakes, change won't happen. Change helps in creating a new nd better future.

  11. The law of patience and reward - if you are consistent and patient with your goals, it will come to light.

  12. The law of significance and inspiration- Everyone has a part to play in this world. Everyone is significant and important one way or the other. Our actions though unknown to us can inspire people one way or the other.

These laws help us to understand how karma really works and how our actions affect others around us and the world.

It all depends on you!
