Coinbase is Facing A Class-Action Lawsuit From XRP Holder
On December 30, an alleged customer named Thomas Sandoval of St. Louis filled a lawsuit in District Court in California against crypto exchange giant Coinbase. The class-action lawsuit claimed that Coinbase illegally sell securities in a form of Ripple (XRP) tokens and that it flaunted the rules by listing XRP. The legal document wrote that Coinbase "is not licensed to sell securities" and it is a "digital exchange" and "commodities broker for cryptocurrencies.”
The plaintiff bought XRP in early November last year and and also stated that Coinbase did all of this knowingly.
It stated that Coinbase had cheated its customers on a massive scale, claiming the exchange knew that XRP “did not meet the definition of a commodity,” and was completely aware that was a security, and knew that to trade in it was illegal.
Since the SEC filed its legal action against Ripple Labs, the XRP price has been freefall. However, Ripple denies the SEC's allegations and cited evidence about legal rulings.
Meanwhile, Coinbase decided to suspend trading in XRP token on the last week of the year 2020.

The rank #3 cryptocurrency Ripple (XRP) is now facing the biggest problem they ever had. Many investors have invested in XRP in the hope that XRP/SPARK fork will succeed and they can get the same amount of SPARK token as the amount of XRP they have on their wallet.
After the fork, Ripple pushed the limits of $0.75 in a short time that makes the investors happy. However, the joy was just short lived when the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple Lab Inc. and two of their executives, Brad Garlinghouse and Christian Larsen. It took a heavy blow to the XRP community.
According to the complaint, Ripple Labs “raised over $1.3 billion through an unregistered digital asset securities offering.” The lawsuit also stated that the two founders did not report the sale of personal Ripple savings of around $ 600 million and it emphasized that XRP is only a subject of business and market creation activities.
Since the the SEC announcement, the XRP price drastically drops like a rock, losing almost 40% within 24 hours of the trading sessions. The XRP plunge also grabbed other cryptocurrencies down on December 23 trading sessions.
Some exchanges like Jump Trading and Galaxy Digital stopped supporting XRP. These two have a significant impact on the market. Meanwhile, a crypto asset manager Bitwise liquidated the XRP position of the crypto index fund. Other crypto exchanges including OSL, CrossTower, and Beaxy, also stopped supporting XRP. And one of the biggest exchanges, Coinbase, is expecting to have a delist.

Despite the lawsuit against Ripple Labs, Bitcoin (BTC) has been doing well. On December 23, the stats show that BTC has gained more than 11% and over 29% for the 30 days 120% over the last three months of trading. At the time of writing, BTC captures a $461 billion market cap and even reached its all-time high price of $25,000 on December 26.
Other big cryptocurrencies like ETH and BCH were also down during the trading sessions on Wednesday, but eventually recovers and now making up their losses. At the time of writing, the BCH price is up to $318 with a market cap of $5 billion, while the ETH price is $627 with a market cap of $71 billion.
The XRP price has somewhat recovered from $0.21 on December 24 to $0.38 on December 25. As of today, it decreases 9.10% on its trading sessions with the price of $0.31 and ranked #4 on CoinMarketCap.

Dealingwith Setbacks
We all faces problems in our lives and careers. Moving up in a career sometimes a hard thing to deal with. We often feel like we are moving backwards instead of going on which deteriorates other aspects in life. CREATING FXRP
For example:
Alice has 1000 XRP but she needs 100 FXRP.
Bob is an agent from the Flare Network. He has 5000 Sparks and non FXRP.
Bob wants to earn some fees, so he puts 5000 Sparks in FXRP-System.
For now, all Sparks are unlocked, because they not used as collateral yet. Bob doesn't earn any fees yet.
Alice wants to mint 100 FXRP so she can use smart contracts. We call Alice originator.
**1 XRP = 10 Spark**
**1 Spark = 0.1 XRP**
In order to issue 100 XRP, Sparks must be reserved as collateral. Collateral must be 2.5 times values of XRP.
*100 x 10 Spark x 2.5 = 2500 Sparks*
*FXRP system locks 2500 of Bob's Sparks.*
Bob still owns 5000 Sparks, but only unlocked Sparks are transferable.
Alice must pay the agent 0.1% in the reservation fee.
Since Alice wants to mint 100 XRP, she must transfer now 100 XRP to the agent in XRP Ledger + 5% in creation fee payable to the agent.
When **collateral is locked, reservation and creation fees are paid, it's time to mint FXRP.**
Alice has 100 FXRP and agent Bob earned reservation and creation fees.
REDEEMING FXRP
**Alice wants her FXRP back**
Alice starts by sending her FXRP back to FXRP-System. She has to pay 0.1% redemption fee to the agent.
FXRP-System destroys 99.9 FXRP
The agent sends 99.9 XRP to Alice on XRP Ledger.
Collateral unlocks since FXRPs, that collateral were used for, no longer exist.

So Alice still has XRP and Bob's Sparks are locked.

What if an agent neglect his duties under redemption?
Let's say we are on a bull run and Bob spend almost all his XRP on brand new Lambo 😆
Now when Alice wants to redeem 100 FXRP, Bob doesn't have enough XRP. He sends 2 XRP to Alice.
The FXRP-System sends Alice value of the missing 98 XRP in Sparks and a 1% compensation fee.
**98 XRP = 1225 Sparks**
**1% of 98 XRP = 12.25 Spark**
On an exchange she can buy for that **98.98 XRP 1237.25 x 0.08**
Bob get penalized half if the remaining collateral, 943.875 Spark are burned as penalty.
FLARE TIME SERIES ORACLE
**How does it work?**
****Determination of XRP/Spark price****
The **Flare Time Series Oracle** is a ***decentralized application that aims to generate accurate estimates of off-chain time series data on the Flare Network.***
In our example, ***FTSO will aim to generate accurate price of XRP.***
***The Oracle takes as inputs estimates from two sets of participants: Spark holders and relevant F-asset holders.***
They wil participate in FTSO by voting on XRP/Spark price.
**1 XRP = 2 Sparks**
We start by recalculating FXRP into Spark.
So Alice had 1 XRP x 2 = equivalent of 2 Sparks. In that case, Charlie has 6 Sparks tokens.
Combined voting power of XRP holders is 8 Sparks.
While voting power of Spark holders is 40 (Bob and Eve). It means Spark voting power is 5x compare to FXRP holders. Voting power of each FXRP holder must be adjusted with 5x.
**Alice 2 x 5 = 10 Charlie 6 x 5 = 30**
Now FXRP holders (Alice and Charlie) and Spark holders (Bob and Eve) has equal voting power.
**Total votes = 80**
**Now we can voting for XRP/Spark price.**
Alice submitted 3 votes, Bob 4 votes, Charlie 5 votes, and Eve 6 votes.
Next the top 25% and lower 25% of votes are discarded.
**25 of 80 = 20 votes**
We will discard 20 votes from the bottom and 20 from the top.
Alice voted for the lowest price so we start with her. We discard all of her votes, since she had only 10.
There are still 10 lowest votes to discard.
Next with the lowest vote is Bob, since he voted for 4. We gonna discard of his 10 votes.
Now we have to discard top 20 votes, which belongs to Eve.
And we are left with the remaining 50% of votes. That means we can calculate with the remaining.
**The Oracle output = 4.75**
**How the Oracle rewards divides among voters?**
**Initially, Bob had 20 votes and Charlie 30.**
Bob's 10 of 20 votes survived and contributed to the output. Whilst all of Charlie's votes contributed to the output.
In that case, Bob will receive 0.5/1.5 = 33% of Oracle reward. And Charlie 1/1.5 = 66% of Oracle reward.

What is Flare Network?
**Flare** is the world's ***first Turing complete Federation Byzantine Agreement(FBA) network***. Which means it is scalable, safe, and decentralized. Simultaneously, it can deliver smart contracts to other cryptocurrencies.
**How does it work?**
**For example:**
Alice has 1000 XRP but she can't use it for smart contracts. Then Alice has now FXRP that enables usage of smart contracts.
***FBA*** *is used by Stellar as well but* ***FCP is improved.***
**The security of Flare does not depend on a native token**. That is important because Proof of Stake (PoS) does derive security from native token and therefore can not scale for value.
**What does it mean "*****can't scale its value*****?"**
Let's suppose Ethereum 2.0 will secure on blockchain shares of Microsoft worth 1662 Trillion.
Then with a 51% attack worth just 21,42 Bn (51% of market cap), you could take over 1,662 T. So the price of ETH must increase. While it is good for ETH investors, it derives a lot of capital from other users and locks capital in staking.
However, if investors can obtain higher fields elsewhere, the capital will move away from staking and the security of the network decreases.
***FCP is leaderless Asynchronous Byzantine fault-tolerant, has totally ordered transactions and is highly scalable.***
**FLARE CONSENSUS PROTOCOL:**

75% value of cryptocurrencies is non-Turing complete blockchain. Which means they are not compatible with smart contracts.
75% of the value of Blockchains tokens is inaccessible to decentralized applications. That changes now, starting with XRP!
XRP will the first beneficiary of Flare.
**XRP** will the first token to have **trustless representation (FXRP) on Flare Network** that enables smart contracts.
Who will be the next?
**XRP will gain access to smart contracts through FXRP (a.k.a. F-asset)**

To become an SDA ***does not require changes in the other networks.*** In other words, it's very easy for any cryptocurrency/network to get "***connected***" with Flare Network. It is yet to see how Flare will involve.
It can compete with other networks providing interoperability or it may cooperate and Flare might become one of the Polkadots bridges.
Notice that Flare can add different qualities depending on which cryptocurrency is being added as SDA:
Transactions cost on Flare will be burned, which is a deflationary factor.
*There is a single transaction cost for any transaction of complexity up to the complexity limit.*
**Flare introduces limit for transaction fees > complexity limit.**
Even though fees are expressed in Gas converted to Spark, those are unrelated to Gas on Ethereum. In other words, transactions on Flare won't be affected by Ethereum.
SPARK TOKEN
**Spark is the native token of Flare Network**. It will be distributed to XRP holders 1:1.
Total Supply = 100 Bn
**Spark main functions are in Spark Dependent Applications** where it will be used as:
**Collateral** when issuing F-assets and
In **Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO)** where Spark holder will provide price estimates of F-asset.
In addition, **Spark has a governance purpose.** Every Spark holder can participate in the governance of the Flare Network and potentially in the governance of SDA's.
Flare has an **advantage over PoS Network**. It is because ***Flare Consensus Protocol(FCP) does not use the native token for security***. Whether the market cap of Spark token is high and low, the security of the Flare Network remains the same.
**Does it mean you won't be able to stake your Sparks?**
**Flare provides for Spark holders sometimes better.**
You can put your Sparks to work and became an agent. As an agent, you will earn fees every time someone needs your Spark as collateral to mint F-assets (e.g. FXRP) or redeem XRP.

While I was listening to music this afternoon, the song "**Fix You"** suddenly played on my playlist. That was my first time hearing this song. It is actually released last 2005 by **Cold Play** and written by its four members.
The song is not only about a broken-hearted person but the other meaning is also about losing someone you truly love like a family member. In fact, the lead singer Chris Martin used an old keyboard from his late father-in-law when he was unable to gain access to a church-style organ which was supposed to use for the track.
The message that Martin sings throughout is of encouragement: 🎵*"Lights will guide you home / And ignite your bones / And I will try to fix you." 🎵* He sings about ***recovering from grief*** in the song.
While reading the story behind this song, I remember my two cousins who are in grief right now. I can imagine how they felt from losing their mother. My auntie passed away just this week, a single mother for more than 30 years. A mother who tried her best to raise her two kids on her own. The two kids grew up and became responsible persons who are currently working as nurses abroad.
She recently retired from her post as being a public school teacher since both her children already have stable jobs. They even have their own business already and currently renovating their house. My cousins really tried their best to pay for the hard work of their mother, but it seems too late already. And the fact that they were both abroad when their mother passed away was truly heartbreaking. They didn't even saw the last smile of their mother before she crosses the bridge of death. Many felt sad about her sudden death - a good mother and a good teacher. Seeing her two kids standing on their own feet, for sure she is so proud and would be at peace in leaving this world.
I know it would be so hard for my cousins to move on. But I also know that someday, they will be able to fix themselves again.
Life is too short. We do not know when our end is. We should value every single moment we have with our loved ones. The same as being in love. We feel the love at first but we are not sure if it will last forever. So always value yourself before investing your whole love in someone. And learn how to mend your broken heart once it is shattered into pieces. You can not be at your best, but you are always good enough for yourself!

**There is great power in each of us. But most people are oblivious to it.**
People thought that they're a victim in life and permit themselves to become helpless. Once you realize that you have this tremendous power within you, you will be capable to makes changes in your life.
However, it is your decision whether you utilize the power for good or bad. When you use good power, your life will be better. But if you use it for bad, then you will raze everything in your life and will become empty-handed.
