The latest horror movie Choose or Die is Netflix's TV show that have a sweet and deep storyline in it

Quick Summary

Choose or Die tell story about a girl named Kayla, who goes through bad days in her life. Starting from her mother called Thea who have a bad sickness that is getting worse every day, also Kayla's younger brother named Ricky drown in water and died on her watch.

Kayla later found relief when she met a boy named Isaac, who has been crushing on her and really love her.

Kayla's life turn upside down once again again after she discover a old version game in her boyfriend's junkies, the game is called Curs>r.

What you should know about this movie is that it contains violence (blood, self mutilation, graphic imagery) and some really scary moments that can make you flinch.

Main characters in the movie

Kayla played a main role in this show. Kayla who has been looking for a programming company to work for, after she decided to drop out of school but all she could find is cleaning jobs. She later met Isaac who owned a tech shop and she enjoyed playing with stuffs in the shop, which make her to repair the Curs>r game she found, and this game cause troubles for her later.

Ricky is Kayla's little brother that drowned and died on her watch.

However Kayla's mother Thea have a serious kind of ailment which at some point looks as if she's going to make it but after the death of her son, it get worse and Kayla take the responsibility of taking care of her.

Isaac is Kayla's classmate when she was still in school and he have a crush on her. Later he became friends with kayla and they design a video game together.

Lance help Kayla take care of her mom. At some point It look as if Lance is the father of Kayla, but that wasn't confirmed. And he deals in drugs too.

Beck uses his company kismet, to control the house and the building where Kayla work. And what else Beck’s Kismet can't control.

Choose or Die Reviews

This movie is the type of movie that have a good storyline. We see Kayla, she decides to leave school, because of the conditions of her mom and she wants to help her. And then she faces another problem when her little brother died on her. There is plenty of things that should be more interesting for Kayla in her life, than the game she found in the junkie.

The one sick for love Isaac, being Crazy for love but Kayla doesn't wants him or lets say she doesn't think of him as her boyfriend but shes always feel free doing things with him. So Isaac in my own view play important role in Kayla's life, but there's no feelings or fear if Isaac doesn't gets hurts or even die.

This is the same feeling we have when we look at Kayla's mother Thea and even Kayla herself. We could ask how did Thea even ended up like that, even asking how Lance could do some help because of her ailment. But to say Choose or Die have a good story line that will keep you watching, not something about character driven.

Evan could have make something more with Kayla's act, but like many other characters Kayla can't transcend what is on the page. With all what Kayla is facing, you will not feel sorry for her, all you can focus on is how she will be strong enough to continue playing the game, which will will even cause more trouble for her, in order to see how the game works and to know the end about the game.

This movie can make you flinch, like watching someone eating glass. You might see some wrong ideas when watching Choose or Die, when talking about the violence part. Starting with the eating a glass thing, all the way down to when she mount to the 5th level. The points of view in the game is that the demon suppose to benefits on those cursed player.

Conclusion

However the Netflix's horror movie Choose Or Die have some missing points. The movie is not that violent, the bad characters are not that bad as we expected, there is no much fear of whether the main character die or not even for Kayla who we see as the lead character there. All to say is about the storyline is good but the act could be better.

Talking the title, seeing it for the first time makes one question himself if the movie really worth it or not, but I'd say Netflix has really do a great job here.
