Strange that large constructions appear in small countries, which can not afford such extravagances. The Palace of the Romanian Parliament, the second-largest building in the world. Construction began in the 1980s, during the communist period of the country. The construction was completed after the country became democratic. The new society woke up to this huge construction and did not know what to do with it. Eventually, it became Parliament. Maintenance and repair costs are enormous.
