Hi guys here we are on the second date with our orange lighter!
We left that he was in the hands of Kevin lost in thoughts of him on a bench, demoralized by the fact of not having taken the ball, as they say here, of having waited too long and having missed yet another train in his life. he.
In this episode the lighter will leave for another journey and another story and who knows if he will ever return to that bench with the young Kevin.
As always, I remind you that all references to names, places, things or animals are purely fictional and that no Kevin has been mistreated :).
After this episode, we will take a little break because the third one is in Work in Progress and the various Christmas commitments force me to slow down but I'll be back soon with these adventures that are thrilling me and making me discover a new passion in me.
I'm certainly not a professional writer nor an amateur let's say I'll try and put my hands on apologizing for any errors especially verbs haha.
Let's start with the second episode and see where the lighter will take us.
EP. 2
The seasons followed one after the other, 2 years had passed since that day and Kevin was still making a stop on that bench.
Summer was appearing, in the streets, people laughed and shouted joyfully after the hibernation of winter. Kevin was sitting there, on the bench of the tram stop, staring at nothing and thinking of Sofi as infinite mourning...
A tram stops to drop off its passengers, perhaps it is the third or fourth that the young boy sees passing.
A group of three boys get out laughing and the youngest of the three stops in front of him and with a cheerful tone asks him: "Friend, do you happen to have a lighter?".
Kevin immersed in his thoughts takes a while to realize the question and putting his hand in his pocket takes out two lighters, one black and one orange, puts the black back in his pocket and passes the orange lighter to the boy whispering to him in a low tone: " You can keep it. "
Meanwhile, the other two boys who had started along the road leading to the airport shout: "Zotto, move or we are late, we will miss the flight !!!"
Zotto standing in front of Kevin takes the lighter, thanks to him and adds: "Dude up with your spirits, remember that above the clouds there is always the sun."
Then he turns around shouting to his friends: "Benc, Dema wait for me! I'm coming!" and after thanking Kevin again he starts running.
After just over an hour, Zotto Benc and Dema were on the plane that would take them to Barcelona in Spain for a three-day vacation.
Landed and arrived at the hotel, they decide to immediately take a ride on the Rambla, the most popular street in Barcelona, then move on to visit the Sagrada Familia and at the end of the day return to the Rambla to devote themselves to a pleasant hangover with friends.
The next day they decide to visit Park Güell and after-hours walking among the architectural and natural wonders of this park they stop at a bar. Between various toasts with beer and other spirits, Zotto asks Benc, who had suddenly become serious: "Hey Benc, do you believe in love at first sight?"
Benc is struck by that question for a moment and then replies: "Do you read Zotto in my mind?" - he raises the right corner of his mouth and continues - "until five minutes ago I would have answered NO, but now I tell you YES, do you see that girl over there sitting in front of us? ... well that girl just stole my heart!"
Zotto bursts out laughing and replies: "Come on Benc !! Maybe it's the alcohol that makes you try these things after you have already drained 3 cervezas !!".
Benc nods his head as if to agree with Zotto, but in his head, and especially in his heart, something had turned on. While Benc continued to think about this feeling, Dema's voice grows louder and louder: "GUYS WE MUST GO UP YOUR ASS!"
The three boys take their backpacks, set off down a slope and after just two hundred meters they stop at a souvenir shop to buy various souvenirs. Benc stays out with his backpacks, when suddenly lost in his thoughts he feels touched on his shoulder, he turns and a lightning bolt pierces his heart: in front of him is the girl seen at the bar asking him: "Hola, ¿Tienes un encendedor? ". Benc, who does not understand Spanish and is still incredulous of those in front of him, does not react for a moment, but immediately afterwards he realizes the question and replies in Italian:" Ah yes! The lighter! Wait ... ". He puts his hands in his pockets looking for a lighter and takes out the orange one, by Zotto, probably taken by mistake that morning as he came out of the hotel room, and offers it to the girl who adds:" Ahhh but you are Italian ... me too!"
Benc already gets stuck in the ball even more but then manages to open his mouth and asks him: "Wow, where from? What's your name?"
The girl replies: "My name is Marzia and I'm from Bergamo".
Benc: "Hi Marzia, my name is Benc or better they call me Benc" and smiles ... then continues "Are you here on vacation?"
Marzia: "Yes, but tonight I'm going back to Italy for me the vacation is over today and this was my last stop".
While Marzia was speaking, after having lit a cigarette, she holds out the lighter with her hand to Benc who replies: "Oh, what a pity we are going away tomorrow. Keep the lighter as well. You said you are from Bergamo, right?"
Marzia thanks Benc and as she goes away shouts at him: "Yes Bergamo!".
The boys leave the shop and seeing Benc agitated they ask him: "Friend, are you okay?"
Benc: "Guys it was her !!".
"She, who?"
"The girl from the bar .. her name is Marzia, she's from Bergamo, not even an hour's drive from our house !?"
Zotto: "Oh Benc take back eh !! We are in Barcelona, we are on vacation, we are planning to have fun !!"
For the rest of the holiday, Benc spoke little or nothing, immersed as he was in the chat with Marzia. A thousand questions assailed him, one more than all: "How can I find her?".
After three days, the boys return home and the day after their return Benc picks up Dema by car without telling him anything, neither why nor where to go. He stops at a newsagent's for a quick stop, going out with a roll of adhesive tape in one hand and under his arm a hundred photocopied sheets with the inscription MARZIA I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO YOU-PARK GUELL'S BOY "and under his phone number.
Dema senses Benc madness and bursts out laughing but decides to indulge his friend in this adventure that has Bergamo as its destiny.
Once in Bergamo they begin to cover the city centre with photocopies and once finished they return to the car to go home.
With the car switched on, they set off again and after 15 minutes Benc phone rang.
Benc pales in surprise to see an unknown number on his screen... "Hello !?"
On the other side of the phone a female voice: "Hi, I'm Marzia. I read the flyer, you posted one right in front of the bar where I work"
"Really ??? Why didn't I go in !?" Benc answers laughing ...
You hear the noise of a lighter, it was Marzia lighting a cigarette and with a serious tone replies: "Maybe it's better this way since I work with my boyfriend"
Benc falls silent and it takes a few seconds to be able to come up with a few words: "Sorry, forgive me I shouldn't have done that I'm sorry, who knows what I came up with !?"
Marzia: "Surely the craziest gesture they have ever done for me! I'm sorry but on the other hand, it ends here".
Throughout the journey Benc no longer utters anything, he spoke only Dema trying to console him, laughing at the insane gesture.
Back home they stop to pick up Zotto and continue what they had left unfinished in Spain, a colossal hangover!
Marzia used to come home from the bar with the flyer in her hand and as she read and reread it she asked herself many questions about what it could be, what it could have become and in the meantime she lights another cigarette, but putting the orange lighter in her pocket does not he notices that it was missing and that the lighter fell to the ground.
