Gian Roc - Splinterlands - Fire

Hi guys, I take some more time to talk to you about Splinterlands and let's go back to see the pros and cons of a new monster!

Let's go back to the Island of Fire where a bird awaits us but not just any bird but a huge bird capable of turning the day into night with its shadow.

As always we will talk about the strengths and weaknesses of this card to conclude with a battle, seeing the cards in action I think is worth a thousand words even if to better understand it it is right to make a brief introduction also to talk about its value in the market.

I use little of this card but perhaps if used correctly this monster could be fundamental in battle.

Today's monsters might be mistaken for ordinary birds when viewed from afar, but once they get close they cast shadows across the land given their mammoth size.
They live and never move away from the island of fire, the heat of this island is very favourable for their nesting.
Able to carry an elephant with grace, today we talk about:

GIANT ROC

This card belongs to the ALPHA / BETA edition, it is a common card of the FIRE element but can also be used by DRAGONS.
He has a MELEE attack and already at level one he has two skills and reaches a maximum of three at level six.
It can be upgraded up to level ten and on the market, it can be found at $ 1.49 at level one up to a maximum of $ 685 at level ten, there are 17,000 cards in circulation, not many but not a few.

GIANT ROC has a MANA cost of five, a medium-high cost that makes its use difficult not so much for its cost but its power, despite starting with two skills this card is not used much at least by me and its attack so low they make other monsters prefer.

GIANT ROC possesses attack one at a basic level and reaches a maximum of three already at level eight.
His speed starts at two and always increases a little as the evolution of the card increases until he becomes a very fast raptor reaching speed five at level nine.
He has no armour and his life starts at four and reaches a maximum of six at his maximum level often.

Many skills for this huge bird, already from level one starts with FLYING, a power that increases the probability of dodging by monsters that do not have this ability
Always at level one it already has the REACH power, this ability allows the monster to attack from the second row despite having a MELEE attack.
At level six there is a third TRAMPLE ability, when a monster with this power attacks and kills an opponent, it makes a second attack in the same turn.

SUMMONER DEPLOYMENT

For this game, I chose the natural element of our Challenge card or the FIRE element by deploying the Summoner TARSA Summoner RARE with a cost in MANA 4 just above the average.
This card has the power to increase the MELEE attack of friendly cards by one and to increase the life of all friendly cards by one, in the gif we will see this monster at the top.

My opponent selected the DEATH element by deploying CONTESSA L'AMENT RARE card with a MANA cost of three a little lower than mine.
He has the power to reduce the RANGED attack of the opposing cards by one, in this game his power is unaffected because I have not deployed cards with a RANGED attack.

I deployed the Tank LIVING LAVA in the first position, this card is very resistant because it has a medium-high life of six and armour of two but what makes it difficult to take down is its SHIELD ability which reduces the damage taken from both RANGED and MELEE attacks.

In the second position, I entered GIANT ROC, thanks to his ability he will be able to attack also from the second row and will be protected by my TANK.
In case my TANK dies prematurely, he can attack from the front row as well.

In the third position, I have deployed RADIATED SCORCHER, a common card of the FIRE element that has MELEE attack and will not be able to do much from that position but with so little MANA I have decided to deploy this card to cancel an opponent's attack in case of SNEAK ability.

My opponent has set up the Tank BONE GOLEM RARE card from the DEATH element with a MANA cost of eight.
This tank has a medium-high life of six and armour of two, has a good attack of three and has the VOID ability that reduces the magical damage received, in this game this power is useless since I have not deployed wizards.

In the second position he inserted CURSED SLIMEBALL common card of the DEATH element with mana cost one, he has no abilities and has MELEE attack so he cannot attack from the rear.
In the third row, he has UNDEAD BADGER common card of the DEATH element with a mana cost of two, has MELEE attack and has the SNEAK ability that allows him to attack even from the rear targeting my last inserted monster.
RADIATED SCORCHER can come in handy in that position as targeting UNDEAD BADGER and defending my challenge card.
In the last row he inserted another DEATH card with a RANGED attack, DARK ASTRONOMER has no abilities and can attack from the rear.

It took three rounds to win the game and our huge bird took down most of the enemies defended by my tank in the front and a RADIATED SCORCHER in the rear.
The boosted attack from my Summoner meant that it immediately knocked down the defences of BONE GOLEM that blow for blow is dead and chains all other enemies.

CONSIDERATIONS

Interesting card GIANT ROC already from a low level, if well protected and with the right Summoner it can hurt.
Upgraded greatly increases speed and therefore dodging, boosted by its FLYING ability
With the arrival of the third power at level six it could become devastating I just hope you don't drop that elephant in my head and you don't drop me in the flames of the island :).
