Hi friends, here we are with a new episode dedicated to the monsters of our favorite game built on Blockchain .. how which one ?? SPLINTERLANDS !!!
If you still don't play this game, which in addition to being a beautiful game is also a good investment, find all the info at the end of the post.
Today we return to the island of MORTIS, when I met this monster I was paralyzed with fear hiding behind a column, I almost wanted to become the column.
Even now thinking about it I don't know what I saw, I didn't understand if it was a spider or an octopus, the fact is that it was definitely a scary monster! :-)
Today we are talking about a big monster, a big monster of dimensions but also of numbers, a lot of life, a lot of attacks, a lot of speed and the cost to be able to deploy it but certainly when you can insert it makes itself felt and often wins battles. .
As always we will do an overview of the pros and cons of this monster, we will see its evolution, its powers and some possible strategies to be able to use it ends with an epic battle, hopefully.
Today we talk about:
OCTOPIDER
This card is part of the REWARD edition, is a RARE card of the DEATH element but can also be used by DRAGONS, has RANGED attack and can be upgraded up to level eight.
The RULESETS that do not allow the use of this card are ODD ONES OUT which allows the use of only monsters with odd MANA and BROKEN ARROWS which does not allow the use of cards with RANGED attack and LITTLE LEAGUE which only allows the use of cards with a mana cost of four or less.
To use this card you need a lot of MANA given its high cost and when you can use it certainly is a nice help in battle.
Here's how OCTOPIDER evolves.
His attack starts at three at level one which is already a good attack for his base level and reaches a maximum of five at full power at level eight.
The speed starts at three, medium-high this card is already very fast and can dodge several attacks, reaches a maximum of four at level four, has no armour but has a large number of health starts from seven at level one and reaches a maximum of eight.
These traits justify the high MANA cost of eight, plus two abilities that appear by upgrading the card.
At level three the first DEMORALIZE power appears which reduces the MELEE attack of the opposing cards while at level seven a second BLIND ability is added, this power increases the chance of missing the target both of the RANGED and MELEE attacks of the opposing cards.
We just have to see OCTOPIDER in action !!
LEEET'S GOOOO!
RULESETS:
STANDARD: No changes to Rulesets in-game.
MANA: 29
DEPLOYMENT:
For this game, I decided to deploy the DEATH element by inserting the Summoner ZINTAR MORTALIS RARE card with a MANA cost of three.
This card has the power to decrease the power of opposing cards' MELEE attacks by one.
My opponent chose the FIRE element by inserting the Summoner MALRIC INFERNO RARE card with a MANA cost of three, this has the power to increase the power of the MELEE attacks of friendly cards by one.
In fact, the powers of the Summoners cancel out leaving the attacks of the cards unchanged.
As a Tank, I placed an UNDEAD REXX common card with a MANA cost of nine in the front row, this level one monster is powerless but has a high attack of five and a large amount of health equal to nine.
In the second row, I inserted a second card with a MELEE attack.
SPINEBACK WOLF common card of the DEATH element with a MANA cost of five.
Despite having a MELEE attack this card can attack from the second position thanks to its REACH power which allows cards with MELEE attack to be able to attack from the second row.
In the third position I inserted our Challenge card, I placed it as third because I think it is well protected by the first two and having a lot of life it can survive some attacks from cards with SNIPE abilities by defending in turn my card positioned in the last row.
As the fourth card, I have deployed a TWISTED JESTER RARE card of the DEATH element with a MANA cost of four.
Has RANGED attack of two and the SNIPE ability.
This gives priority to targeting cards with RANGED, MAGIC or no attack.
My opponent has set up the Tank PIT OGRE RARE card of the FIRE element with an MNA cost of six.
He has MELEE attack of two and seven of life, has the ability STUN that gives a chance to stun the cards he hits.
In the second row, he has inserted GRUMPY DWARF common card NEUTRAL with a MANA cost of four, he has a MELEE attack but like SPINEBACK WOLF he has the REACH ability and can attack from the second row.
In the third position, she has ELVEN CUTTHROAT common card NEUTRAL with a cost of three in MANA.
This card also has MELEE attack but its SNEAK ability allows it to attack from the rear targeting the last enemy monster deployed.
In the fourth row, he has inserted the FIRE BEETLE common card of the FIRE element with a MANA cost of three, has RANGED attack and the SNIPE ability.
My opponent has deployed a lot of low-cost MANA cards and low power, he thought about integrating attacks with his Summoner but didn't take mine into account.
In the fifth row, he has inserted a third NEUTRAL card with a mana cost of four, CENTAUR has RANGED attack and SNIPE abilities, while in the last row he has deployed CYCLOPS RARE card with a mana cost of six, also this NEUTRAL card that does not have level one abilities.
Three Rounds were enough to win the match, OCTOPIDER suffered many hits, some managed to dodge them, the others were absorbed by his high amount of life and his attacks took down all the opponents one by one with the help of the whole team.

The MANA cost of this card does not make it easy to insert into combat, but it is certain that when there is a lot of life, a good speed and a good attack make it a powerful card and I believe that if upgraded to the abilities of this monster transform you into a real war machine.
For safety I remain hidden behind the column a little longer ... ugly and also powerful.
If you haven't tried this game yet my advice is to do it this is my link referral you can use the link if you like it or not but the point is always the one game to try! :-)
