The Football World Cup comes to football fans every four years. So there is no end to the fuss about it. Make flags, support, watch the game and how much more. This madness goes on all over the world. But many of us who love football, remember that many do not know this. Where is the origin of the game or who played football in ancient times or who played it at all or whether this "football" has been like that since ancient times and so on and so forth.

Based on various data, it can be assumed that the game of football was first started by the Greek and Roman communities around 350 BC. The ancient Greeks and Romans played a variety of games with balls, some of which were played using the feet. The Roman game Harpastum came from the Greek game Episkyros, mentioned by the Greek playwright Antiphanes (388–311 BC) and later by the Christian philosopher Clement of Alexandria (c.150-c.215 AD) in their various writings. The game was similar to the game of rugby football. Politician Cicero (106–43 BC) described that during the game, a man was killed by a ball while being saved in a barber shop. The balls were filled with air, much like balloons.

According to FIFA, the competitive game cuju e is the first form of football to have scientific evidence. However, FIFA previously recognized the ancient Greek game Episkyros as the first form of football. It was practiced by the military in the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. The historical Chinese military text Zhan Guo Ce was written between the 3rd and 1st centuries BC in which the word football is found. It describes a military exercise known as cuju (cuju means kick ball) and required a leather ball to be kicked with the foot and a small hole made of silk cloth with a bash 9 meters above the ground. During the Han Dynasty of China (206 BC – 220 AD), the rules of the game of cuju were established.

Later, different forms of the game spread to Japan and Korea, the game was known as kemari in Japan and chuk-guk in Korea. Later another type of goalpost was made which was placed in the middle of the field. A few people would kick the ball inside a round field, but they would try to keep the ball from falling to the ground or floating in the air.

However, various ancient texts mention that ball was played by people in different countries. For example, in 156 AD, English explorer John Davis played football with the Inuit of Greenland. William Strachey, a colonist, recorded the American game in 1810. However, the Australian tribes started playing ball kicking in Australia, as evidenced by the writings of various historians. In New Zealand the Māori started playing the first ball called Ki-o-rahi and the rule of the game was to divide a circular field into several parts with one team in each section and each team had 6 players and a circular boundary in the middle of the field. In two ways the points of the game were determined by the fact that one day another team could cross the boundary and touch the middle circle with the ball. The game of ball began in Europe and England in the 9th century, according to the book Historia Brittonum. In this game, there were innumerable players in two teams and they could score points if they could push a ball hard and take it to a certain place.

Football was played in Ireland in 1308 and was watched by a spectator named John McCrocan who is mentioned in his book. The name of the ball that was played in Florence, Italy in the 16th century was "calcio storico" and later this "calcio storico" is the earliest form of modern football.

The game had a maximum of 26 players and each team had a different number of players, such as 15 in a team, 20 in a team and 5 in a goalkeeper. There must be players and one of them will be a goalkeeper in a team. So the journey of modern football started from 180. Many studies have shown that 10 + 10 = 20 players is enough to cover the whole field. So this 11 + 11 = 22 people. Rules are made.

In 1928, Arsenal's board of directors first decided to put numbers on players' jerseys for easy identification. At that time the jersey number of the host team was 1-11 and the number of the visiting team was 12-22. But in 1940 it was decided that the same number could be taken by the players of the opposing team but the number should be up to 1-22. In 1993, the name of the player was first written on the jersey and it was decided that any number of players could take it. Since then, football has been basically free. Photo: "mob football" game.
