It's difficult to find work. Finding a career that checks all of your boxes requires time and effort. It's even more tough now, in the aftermath of the covid 19 pandemic. Many of their employers were compelled to lay off employees, leaving many skilled people jobless and anxious for fresh opportunities. Even if you have a career, you may feel dissatisfied with it and yearn for something different.

When you already have a lot on your plate, looking for a new job can feel like a full-time job. So, what exactly does that imply? There are more qualified people with outstanding abilities and many years of work experience applying for fewer jobs, and there are more talented people applying for fewer opportunities. This instils in us a sense of scarcity, and even if you are a talented individual, it can be discouraging to apply for employment and not hear back, or to reach to the final interview stage only to learn that they have picked someone else to fill the position.

When the road ahead may be arduous, you have the will and determination to persevere, so here are some recommendations to keep you encouraged while job looking.

Clarify your values and goals

Take some time to identify your values and ambitions before you get too far into the job application process. Are they relevant to the positions you're applying for? It's easy to get wrapped up in meeting job requirements and acing the interview that you neglect to think about whether you actually like or want the job. Let's pretend you obtain the job you wanted. What happens after you've been driving for a few months and decide you don't like it? You might discover that the company's culture and beliefs don't match your own, or that you aren't doing the task you expected. You may have noticed the warning signs earlier, but you were so focused on landing the job that you automatically dismissed them.

In the end, if you take the time to align with your end purpose, you can avoid this. You'll be able to choose which jobs you should apply for and which opportunities you should decline based on your values.

Write out your skills you need to have

A standing CV that lists all of your abilities and accomplishments serves as a reminder of how competent you are. When you're tired of looking for work, it's easy to minimise your accomplishments. You frequently allow negativity to get in the way of realising your positive qualities. Take the time to list your abilities, including both hard skills such as business analysis and soft skills such as excellent time management. By writing down these abilities, you may compare them to your previous achievements and remind yourself that you can achieve everything you set your mind to.

Improve your weaknesses

Consider the areas you need to work on while you make a list of your accomplishments. What is it that is preventing you from getting the job? What's getting in the way of your personal and professional growth?

Practicing the interview process with a trusted mentor or friend and receiving feedback is a good method to find out. They'll tell you what they think you did well and where you should improve. Having an unbiased outside opinion will help you realise what the interviewer is thinking more clearly.

Choose something you love

Many people are caught in professions that are the simplest to do, which aren't often the jobs they want. You must constantly remember, though, that you have the power of choice. Don't allow that temporary employment turn into a permanent position because it feels safe. When you allow the world choose your path, you become further removed from your particular goals and passions. When you have the freedom to choose what you want to do, think about what makes you truly happy and how you may find a job that fulfils your purpose.
