When we heard of Time Travel, most people think of it as riding a time machine then traveling to the future or back in the past.
Filmmakers are the ones behind this idea of a person traveling through time by a machine. Although the main purpose of such movies is to entertain people.
In everyday living we are already time traveling, we realize it only when the year changes. New year, birthdays and anniversaries are occasions that will remind us that time flies so fast. Thus, we are traveling in time at approximately 1 second per second.
However, what we want with the phrase “time travel” is to travel faster than 1 second per second. According to NASA, scientifically speaking, time travel is possible.
The theory came from the famous scientist Albert Einstein with his theory of relativity. According to Einstein, space and time are connected to each other. The universe has a speed limit and nothing can travel faster than the speed of light.
When I traveled to the Middle East sometime ago, I noticed that the time seemed to be slower. The plane departed from Singapore at 9AM and landed in the Middle East at 6PM. However I was traveling above at an altitude of 35,000 feet for 14 hours. It appears the clock was left behind for 5 hours. So the clock on the plane was slower than 1 second per second but travels faster than 1 second per second.
Einstein theory also explains that clocks run slower with stronger gravity.
A good example for the use of time travel in daily life is the GPS. The GPS satellites are orbiting 20, 200 Km above the Earth’s surface. Gravity is weaker so the clocks on the GPS satellite runs faster than 1 second per second.
So the scientists therefore conclude that Time Travel is real. It might not be the thing we saw in movies but at least it is possible to travel through time at a faster speed of 1 second per second.

Our country, Philippines, is 1 day ahead with US, but in terms of technology and living conditions, we are probably 20 years delayed. And if you go to some provinces, about 50 years delayed. So yeah, time travel is real.
