BitcoinBaby Went P2E - Does Investing In Gods Unchained Make Me Money?
Why does it take me so long to follow up on some awesome advice?
Am I that Stubborn or just that Stupid?
Well, whatever it was it took longer than I wanted.
But I finally did it, no not IT, I finally listened.
I wanted to do a monthly update on my travels through the realms of Gods Unchained (GU), but it took me six weeks to just take the advice I got from @kstreet .
For improving your game, we all use:
Here you can see an analysis of the meta. For example, two power links are:
Top decks:
https://gudecks.com/meta/top-decks
Top players:
https://gudecks.com/meta/player-stats
You can click the player names to see what decks they are playing. Many of those decks are going to be expensive, but you'll discover some cheap ones that are still very effective. That's what I would build towards. Aggro-war decks are particularly effective and low-cost in the current meta.
Yes, that was the best bit of advice I got on my first GU post:
BitcoinBaby went P2E - No clue what I am doing in Gods Unchained
Next Step
Still, it´s quite a step forward considering it took me 4 months to write that post and confess I was a little lost baby in a huge Gods Unchained world. So from that angle, I am making progress.
Now as said in the title, does investing in GU make me money? Now in that July post I showed I made 85 GOD in those 3 months.
Hence those first 3 months playing every night made me 15 cents per night.
What Else Did I Do Those First Four Months?
If you are to lazy to read that first post, let me quickly summarize how I got started:
I started playing without reading of watching any tutorials
I started selling without having a clue about prizes
I started asking around and got some useful links (https://tokentrove.com/ & https://guforge.com/)
I got better at selling
I learned how to forge
I thought myself some cobmos
I played four months with almost the same Deception deck.
I did not get past Rank 8 for the first 4 months, which I just learned is a Bot Rank??
Then I wrote my post and got that tip, it might be the golden tip who knows?
Of course, I don´t listen, or at least do not follow advice to the letter as I am too much in love or accustomed to my Deception deck which I have been playing every night for the last six months.
So no War Aggro for me, but let´s try:
Aggro Deception
The one at the bottom
I used the standard filters, hence the last 3 days, and Rank Mythic, let me know what filters the pros use.
Now I looked at the cards and noticed I was at least holding some, I liked that Kaya, Conduit of the Gods card. I checked the price and was like ....oops but okay.
I looked at Hortuk, Fallen Commander, and was not so impressed so I did not check the price.
What I did do was start to buy the required cards to mimic this deck.
Baby´s First Shopping Spree
The fact that I already had to buy several 1 Mana & 2 Mana cards told me that these probably were not your standard drops.
Last year I found out that investing in HP on Hive, pays out in the upvotes on your posts and I think that tactic is what @Protoaddict is directing me toward:
And when he told me this, I did not know how right he was on those "Dirt Cheap Cards"
Armor lurker, Stoneskin Poison, and Surprise Delivery are all dirt cheap.
Because I bought 2/3 based on the decks I wanted to mimic:
Now I am still doubting Surprise Delivery but still 2/3 ain't bad.
Just wondering why Shadow of Lethenon?
I mean I saw what it could do, but was not that impressed.
Let me know what I am missing.
So What Else Did I Buy?
I think I am gonna love this card:
Now I never got this Pickpocket, until I understood the strategy of this Deck. It´s Guild and with Stoneskin Poison I might be able to accelerate the order and start picking those random opponent cards.
With a guild-based deck, this card might be a cheap way to strengthen my hand. Let's see if it proves itself.
Because I know I definitely think I will need to fine-tune my poo deck.
With Order & Guild being the keywords these next two cards definitely made sense to buy:
Weirdly enough I was not holding them (yet), so I expect they will land in my hand soon. But who cares I was spending money to make money; so a bit more would not matter.
But I did doubt this next buy, two of these Spawns of Callaryn might give my Aggro that final push, but I doubt this card a bit.
Now this Looter Dude I bought times five as you can see;
For the simple reason I might just make a buck and get some return on my investment on the short notice;
So I put in on sale for:
That would get me 6 GODS back, 6 of the 60 GODS I spent on building this deck.
Did I Mirror the Entire Deck
After playing my own Deception deck for five months I am a little pigheaded. I am not going to copy the entire deck, I made some minor changes. And one big one.
The Big One
So I bought all the cards I was missing and now it was to buy Hortuk, Fallen Commander.
I expected it to be expensive, like double what I paid for Kaya.... it was not double....it was not even quadruple!
Okay, now I get why this was a $100 deck, because all other cards combined don´t even get close to the price of Hortuk.
Above My Budget
I did not even have the budget to buy this guy, but if anyone has a powerful cheapish 7 Mana card suggestion let me know, for now, I went with WitherFingers:
And I kept this lovely Deception card:
I also kept this combo; Dart Maniac & Uncanny Rogue because for six mana I can give a Deadly punch to the weakest card at the end of every turn.
Or use that Uncanny Rogue with the Vanguard Axewoman to quickly eliminate a strong opponent.
Last But Not Least
Last card I kept was:
Kept it just because it delivered in the past, but I might get rid of it in the near future.
So what cards did I not get from the deck I mimicked?
This guy never really got me, it´s just too little of a punch so I did not get any:
For now, I got only one of these and not two but as it´s Guild, Cheap, and only one mana I might get a second soon.
I also got only one Encumbered Looter, because I am not expecting to need to draw many cards with this deck.
So I did a lot of mimic and a bit of me, tonight I am gonna play and see.
If it works I will make sure to upgrade all to Meteor or More!
Bottom Line
Back to making money through investing.
I did notice that I almost doubled my GODS Tokens between the 20th of July and early September. Because I did 85 in 3 months and 65 in the next six weeks. That took me to 17 cents a night on average.
That increase was due to improving my deck and increasing the Shine (quality) of the cards in that deck. Now I invested 60 GODS tokens in new cards, and another 10 on upgrades to Meteor or More.
What will that investment do?
Will it drastically increase my stack of GODS or have I invested in all the wrong places?
At this moment I hold fewer GODS than I did six weeks ago. Now if this investment works I should make 65 GODS in under six weeks. My goal is to make those 65 GODS back before my next post. Which I promise to write in four weeks.
Stay Tuned
Come back in four weeks and see if taking advice and being a little Cocky will make 65 GODS & finally get me to Rank 10 and beyond.
For now, all advice is welcome.
Especially if someone knows how to refresh your Inventory without rebooting the game on a laptop. Because the cards I bought only showed up after rebooting the game.
I asked some questions throughout the post, but any tips are welcome, and will get a shout-out in my Next GU post. Your tips are not just for me, they are for all the little lost boys and girls wandering through those GU realms with no clue what they are doing.
Thank goodness you made it till the end Peace, love and I am out of here!
