Second stimulus check timeline: When might the IRS send you another payment?

Could a second stimulus check in the form of a paper check, direct deposit or EIP card still go out to eligible Americans by the end of this year? Exactly how quickly this might happen rests with a few key negotiators in Washington.

There has been little movement to reach a deal over the past month, despite both sides of the aisle publicly calling for compromise on the size and scope of the package -- the two sides are around $1 trillion apart in their thinking. Republicans are also working on a more "targeted" relief bill worth $500 billion.
