SYMPTOMATIC SATURDAY- MIGRAINE V/S HEADACHE HEADACHES are unpleasant pains, pressure and aching in head region. May range from mild to severe, and usually occur on both sides of your head. But it is different from a migraine. MIGRAINE involves a primary headache disorder along with a variety of other symptoms. People with migraine experience recurring attacks that may last for a few hours to days with a throbbing headache. COMMON SYMPTOMS- headache, dizziness, nausea, vomitting, light and sound sensitivity, neck stiffness, blurred vision, lack of sleep. A migraine headache usually affects one side of the head, but some people experience pain on both sides. 4 PHASES OF MIGRAINE- 1. Premonitory phase- It includes nonpainful symptoms that occur hours or days before the headache. It involves- -unexplainable mood changes -stiffness of the neck -constipation or diarrhea -sensitivity to light, sound, or smell. 2.Aura phase- Auras refer to sensory disturbances that occur before or during a migraine attack. Auras can affect a person’s vision, touch, or speech. 3.Headache phase- People who have a severe migraine headache may need to seek emergency medical treatment. 4.Postdrome phase- The postdrome phase occurs after the headache subsides.
