This is the Technology Embedded in MotoGP Bikes

MotoGP is the most prestigious motorcycle racing event in the world.

How not, in the MotoGP event a lot of sophisticated motorbikes are on display. Starting from manufacturers Yamaha, Honda, KTM, Suzuki, Aprilia, Ducati. All are competing in creating a recipe for how the motor can go fast.

If you look at the early days of MotoGP's debut, the motors that were shown only prioritized engine speed, over time, they only thought about developing the chassis on the motorcycle, after that they developed technology starting from aerodynamics and developing many more racing supporting technologies.

If you think about it, MotoGP motorbikes are like prototype motorbikes because the technologies installed are almost not found on motorbikes that are traded on the market.

However, whether in the following years, the technology on MotoGP motorbikes could be embedded in general motorbikes. Although not all.

Now can you imagine how much technology is embedded in MotoGP motorbikes?

Brake Cooling Duct

Brake Cooling Duct was first introduced by the Ducati manufacturer at the MotoGP event. This technology is useful for flowing air from the front so that the brake calipers are not too hot. Another benefit of the brake cooling line is that it maintains a normal engine temperature because the engine is always exposed to fresh air.

Swing Arm

Swing Arm is a frame that is attached to the rear wheel and front frame of the motorcycle. The swing arm is an important part where the swing arm serves to keep the motor stable and not shaken on an uneven track or track.

Traction Control System

The traction control system has a function so that the motor remains stable and does not slip when cornering. This technology is designed to minimize the risk of the rear tire slipping when the motorbike is maximizing its acceleration.

This technology has often been used by MotoGP racers. This is because the track from MotoGP is winding with several corners that make it difficult to turn the motorbike.

With the presence of this technology, racers do not need to have difficulty in sharp cornering. Moreover, even slippery curves can be passed easily.

Brake Lever Protector

Brake lever protector is an additional part that is added to the gas lever as a hand protection when there is a collision with another racer.

Brake lever protector has started to be used by every MotoGP bike because previously there was an incident involving Pedrosa, Melandri, and Capirossi at the 2006 Catalunya GP. And at the Grand Prix Commission at Valencia 2011 it was the first time that brake lever protector was used by all motorcycles.

The technologies that I have mentioned are technologies that are now starting to be embedded in motorbikes sold on the market. Such as Yamaha R25, NMAX, Honda PCX, and many more.

For the sensors installed on MotoGP bikes, it is no less important. Sensors are used to support motor performance in addition to a capable engine.

According to the data I have collected, there are approximately 50 sensors embedded in MotoGP bikes.

Some of the important sensors embedded in MotoGP bikes include:

Launch Control System (LCS)

This sensor is used to regulate and limit the rotation of the motor engine.

Usually the LCS is used at the initial starting position. The LCS dampens the excess rpm when trying to accelerate before the red start light goes out.

The LCS easily functions so that the motor doesn't wheelie easily when starting.

Use the LCS by pressing one of the buttons on the left handlebar.

Wheelie Sensor

The wheelie sensor is used so that the front tires are not easily lifted when there is over-power hardening during acceleration. Usually when the motor comes out of the corner.

The wheelie sensor functions to regulate excessive force on the motorbike and detects front tire movement.

Lean Angle Sensor

This sensor will record the tilt angle of the motorcycle when it is in a corner. The lean angle sensor is used to find out how many degrees of inclination and rpm the motor reaches which will later be useful for mechanics.

Suspension Sensor

The front and rear shock data output is very useful about how the shock conditions work when cornering, braking and exiting corners.

From the data seen on the monitor screen will be analyzed.

The analysis is whether or not the driver's braking point is correct or whether the pretentious setting is correct when the driver is in a corner.

Those are some of the sensors that are embedded into MotoGP motorbikes that are very important and useful to support their motorbikes while on the track.

Actually there are many other important sensors. As I have said before, these sensors are approximately 50 important sensors. And some have functions that are interrelated with each other.
