Debt is a habit that has now become a "necessity of life". Everyone in this world feels incomplete without debt. Misunderstanding the dangers of debt makes this happen. In fact, debt is something that must be avoided or even abandoned. In the following I will explain some things to overcome ourselves from debt bondage.

First is Intention

Instill in yourself that debt is something that is troubling, demeaning and degrading your own dignity. You will be miserable if you have debt, therefore you must have a strong intention and determination to avoid it.

2. Feeling Enough

While trying to work, you must have a sense of qonaah or feel enough about everything you get. This is manifested in the attitude and behavior of life that is modest, not extravagant and always feels enough. As well as controlling expenses that must be smaller than income, because excessive expenses will encourage you to go into debt.

3. Fulfill needs not wants

Smart to distinguish wants and needs. Because debt often occurs because too often we comply with expenses that are based on desires not needs. This way you will know which ones to hold on to and which ones to fulfill immediately. It must be remembered that the need is something that must be held, on the other hand, the desire is usually not appropriate to be done or realized, and it is necessary to know that the need is certainly not small.

4. Eat and Drink Less

Adequate food and drink, which is not excessive can make us save more expenses. eat and drink twice a day as long as it is sufficient to meet the nutritional needs is enough. Excessive eating and drinking, especially when accompanied by snacking and consuming instant food, will harm the health of your body and your pocket.

In addition, fasting sunnah can also be a solution to save on daily shopping. by fasting can reduce the ration of food that might normally be three times to only two times. except, if you fast just to change the schedule of eating and drinking, then this will not happen.

5. Alms

"Give charity then you will be rich" this is often said by motivators of Islamic economics and it is true, because this has been stated in the Qur'an and hadith, and there are testimonials. Every wealth that is given in charity will not decrease, but increase, it will be repaid in abundance, if it is not repaid by Allah in this world, it will surely be repaid in the hereafter.

6. Saving

Get in the habit of saving even though the income we can get is limited, it's okay in the slightest. Believe that little by little it will become a hill. Many things start with little, because with savings we can cover sudden needs that befall us. For example, a disaster or calamity that befell our family, replacing lost items or maybe helping a friend who needs to be in debt.

7. Build motivation for Hajj

You should have this desire, at least you have the desire to become a muzakki. So because of this you have the motivation to leave debt and do your best to achieve your dreams without having to owe a penny.

8. Give up smoking

Cigarettes are an addiction that is not much different from debt. Looks sweet but bitter on the back, apart from making your body miserable, smoking can also damage your finances. Because later when you are addicted to it, cigarettes will become a basic need that is bigger than it should be.

Yes, at least if you can't give up smoking, you're on a smoking 'diet'. By reducing little by little the sense of dependence on cigarettes. Because actually by doing this, you save and nourish yourself, your family and those around you.

Good luck and hopefully useful, let's start living a successful life without debt.
