Deception in the Digital Age
Currently we are witnessing, a lot of people who experience losses. People seem to be learning to understand a new world, a world that is still not widely known by the public. A new world that is very rich in information and data.
The phenomenon that occurs in society with the lure of very large investment profits, darkens the eyes and gives up money earned with hard work and sweat given easily to the connoisseurs of wealth by relying on sweet and false promises. The facts that have occurred over the past few decades about the many manipulations and lies about investments both offline and online have not deterred the public. People seem to be hypnotized by the pleasures of being rich in a very fast way and without breaking a sweat.
Getting wealth unilaterally by criminals has a huge impact on society. Losses felt by the community can be in the form of material and non-material losses. Data released by the Investment Alert Task Force or SWI stated that the total public losses due to illegal investments from 2011 to 2021 reached approximately Rp. 117.4 trillion. Of course, this is a very large amount, if these funds were used to build educational facilities and infrastructure, it would have been able to build thousands of new school buildings.
The deceit mode, especially with the ease of internet access and the disclosure of information and data, makes it easier for illegal investment actors to commit fraud. Today's application systems are very easy to build and varied, so loopholes like this are used to trick people.
Facing the digital world that continues to develop, all parties who oversee regulations must work together to prevent losses so that the losses experienced by the community do not become an iceberg that can break out at any time and cause social problems in the community.
Facing the phenomenon of crime that is increasingly prevalent in the digital era, effective education is needed to increase digital literacy and prevent cyber crime. Good cooperation between stakeholders is needed to prevent criminal activity from spreading. Each sector plays an important role and can contribute to digital problems that occur in Indonesia.
The ease of getting money with all deception targeting people who do not have knowledge in the digital field and the like must be quickly responded by stakeholders, so that the younger generation is able to think logically. There is no easy process to achieve success. The success that can be obtained quickly by showing off the wealth that is currently happening must of course be questioned, whether it is obtained in the right ways or by mere deception.
