Bad Habits Born by Modern Technology

Modern technology is able to connect us with unlimited sources of information. Technology also brings us closer to people who are far away; Geographical boundaries are meaningless if you are connected to the internet. However, being connected to the internet also has its downsides. Technology can trap you into habits that make you look like someone who doesn't care, lazy, and doesn't even care about your safety.

You should overcome the bad habits born of this technology:

1. Prefers to take pictures instead of enjoying the moment

Watching the sunset from the beach is really beautiful. But if you don't enjoy it right away, your brain won't remember the beautiful golden color that painted the evening sky. Yes, with a smartphone camera you can capture the scene. But cell phones are not perfect image takers. Precisely our brain memory that can record it well.

Research shows that people who like to take pictures of a work of art are not interested in thinking about how it was made. While people are willing to watch a painting for hours, they will try to understand the hard work of the artist.

After all, shouldn't something so beautiful only be enjoyed on screen? Your smartphone may have an 8MP camera, but your eye resolution is much higher. So the next time you come across an incredibly beautiful moment and sight, look carefully and let your memory record it.

2. Can't be separated from social media when at the dinner table

Almost everyone has done or seen someone do this, busy reading Twitter, updating Path, laughing at photos on Facebook even though you are with other people at the dinner table. In fact, the presence of smartphones and other gadgets on the dining table can have a negative effect on your relationships with other people.

If you have a friend (or yourself) who likes to check their Facebook status, football match scores, or Instagram likes even though you are eating together, then you should try the game 'Stack Cellphones'. Arrange your cellphones stacked in the middle of the table — the one who takes the cellphone first has to treat his other friends.

3. Checking Notifications When You're At Work

Studies have found that office workers are distracted from work about 6 times an hour. Even if it's only intermittently, this kind of distraction can really affect the quality of your work. If you have a lot of work and a deadline, try logging out of all social media, chat apps, and games on your phone. Make your phone silent or turn it off if necessary. Guaranteed your work will be smoother.

4. Sleeping with Smartphone

Not only does it make you stay up late into the night, struggling with smartphones also damages the quality of your sleep and ultimately interferes with the quality of work the next day. Try to sleep without the presence of sophisticated equipment or the internet. Turn off your cell phone if necessary, store it in a different room. If you are afraid to wake up late, use the alarm from the alarm clock.

5. Watch the Marathon Series

Maybe you just realized that there is an okay TV series called Breaking Bad, and since it's no longer broadcast on TV, you intend to watch the first season until the last season via the internet. Damn, that TV series is so good and you can't stop watching it either. The next night, you just remember that you haven't watched Running Man in a long time — not to mention Game of Thrones, which is getting more and more exciting.

Be careful, you know: behind the pleasure of watching a marathon, there are health hazards that threaten you. According to research, staying up 3 hours or more every day can lead to premature death. Instead of sitting for long until you get sick, it's better to take a walk out of the house, do something or read in the park.

6. Playing Smartphone While Walking

Not only will the person you bump into be upset, you will also be left behind in the real world. The world revolves around you, not on your smartphone. So when you go out, keep your phone in your pocket or bag. Who knew what you saw around you could be more interesting than a cat meme on your phone?

Instead of constantly posting on social media or watching all night long, it's better to pay attention to your health, productivity and relationships with the people you care about.
