Welcome to the modern era, where technological developments have been so great. As if it could not be suppressed or suppressed, technology now affects almost all aspects of human life.

If in the past hundreds of kilometers had to be covered in days, now we only need a matter of hours. And when in ancient times our grandparents used to take water from the river or draw from the well, we only needed to press a button and turn the faucet to fill the water reservoir.

When everything can be fast and easy, is there anything to argue about? Behind everything that we can get in this modern era, what is it that we should reflect on?

The greatness of the creators of technology need not be doubted. Thanks to them, our life becomes easier in many ways

Those who struggle with technology deserve appreciation. Various new discoveries that facilitate human life keep popping up. In fact, those who have the ability just like to be in a race. Creating new technologies and inventions for a more practical and efficient life for humans.

There are trains and planes that can be ready to take us to various places. Sophisticated cooking utensils are created in fast food restaurants that make us not have to wait long for food to order. Yup, science and technology don't seem to make room for a life that is slow and lacks innovation. Therefore, our lives will automatically follow these fast-paced developments.

We are getting easier to access information. With a tap on the phone screen, you can find the latest news too

Smartphone or smart phone is one that is attached to our daily lives. Through a variety of available applications, this small object will make it easier for us to get information and do many other things. Armed with an internet connection, we can access a variety of news both from within and outside the country. We are also facilitated because we no longer need to buy newspapers, tabloids, and magazines.

In addition to the latest information and news that can be obtained, smart phones also make it easier for us to do many other things. Paying telephone bills, electricity, buying plane tickets, shopping for clothes, buying daily necessities; everything can be done quickly and easily with a handheld device.

But let's reflect for a moment again, doesn't life in this era actually make us too busy with ourselves?

The obligations and responsibilities of work make us have to make peace with our daily routines. Wake up in the morning, take a shower, get ready and then hurry to breakfast. After that, step into the yard to warm up the vehicle or walk briskly to the side of the road to block the transport.

For approximately eight hours we spend time in the office, making reports, calculating budgets, or occasionally going to check conditions in the field. Not infrequently the piled up tasks force us to continue working at home until late at night. Only after that take a shower and go to bed with a mind that is still tired because of the many tasks that must be completed.

The next day, we will do the same routine. 24 hours a day seems to pass so quickly. Even on weekends, not infrequently we still have to race against time, again taking care of things that we haven't finished in the previous days. We forget how humans should live in balance. Leave the gadget, away from the computer screen, then enjoy the time to go on vacation or just take a walk. Enjoy time with friends, family, or even meet those who need our help.

Technology is also changing the way we communicate. Instead of being engrossed in chatting with friends, gadgets are constantly being glared at

It is undeniable that technology has also been shown to affect our social life. The matter of how we interact with the people around us may begin to change. The moment to meet with friends is getting less and less because of their busy lives. Moreover, we are facilitated by various chat applications available on our cellphones.

Even if we finally have free time to hang out with friends, it's often difficult for us to take our eyes off the cellphone in hand. Friends' activity on the timeline or emails from coworkers make things virtual more important than a friend sitting in front of your eyes.

For a moment we may not realize that enjoying warm moments with friends is what we need. As normal humans, quality interactions actually keep us sane. Sensitivity and empathy in us can also be maintained.

Without realizing it, fast-paced routines and technological sophistication also affect the way humans and God interact

Whether we realize it or not, we often overlook the things that really matter. Skipping the obligation to go to church on Sunday because suddenly there is an additional task that goes into the email box. In a hurry to do the dhuhur prayer after lunch because there was a phone call from the boss. We forget that prayer and worship are actually not just a distraction in the midst of routine work. But on the other hand, shouldn't other things be waiting for us when we are praying or worshiping?

We do live in a fast-paced era, but that doesn't mean we have to do all activities quickly or even in a hurry. We deserve to choose when we can be immersed in this modern life and when we should refrain. After all, living life more slowly in order to be able to enjoy the opportunity of life even once is not something wrong.
