Why is the Tower of Pisa sinking?
This monument is the best known in the world, as it is a great work of architecture, but what really draws attention is that it is crooked and seems to be about to fall, so I had the following doubts Why this tower is leaning and if it falls in the future?
As I asked myself these questions I wanted to do some in-depth research on it, look for the purpose of this large leaning tower and if it can ever fall completely. Which brings me to the fact that it was not in the architect's plans for it to lean, the tower had to be completely vertical like any tower, but as we could see things did not turn out as expected.
It is important to mention that during 5 years they raised the first three floors, but when they were on the fourth floor they noticed that something was wrong, and that is that the tower began to lean to the north. Interesting, isn't it?
But what went wrong, why did it start leaning?
This is a good question that needs a great example. Let's imagine we are in the sand with our legs completely together and buried only up to our ankles. Now, what would happen if suddenly the ground started to move? The most logical answer would be that you wouldn't be able to keep your balance. What you would do would be to lean in some direction and you might even fall, due to the movement and the poor support of your feet. If the opposite were the case, that is, if you were buried up to your knees, you would remain completely upright and the danger of falling would be minimal, wouldn't it?
The same thing happened with the tower, it couldn't keep its balance, so what it did was lean to the north, however, then it shifted to the south. Ultimately, the key is in the ground itself. The place where the tower is located is very unstable, because the subsoil is swampy and formed on sand and clay, so it is not so compact and tends to deform and even move.
However, the great fear has always been that it is possible for the tower to collapse. Until recently the chances of it falling were very high, because every year it was leaning more and at great speed, so visitors were forbidden to enter, because it was very dangerous. But, a kind of miracle appeared, because the Italian government gathered a group of experts who were able to achieve it through a complex system and the leveling of the ground, using materials such as lead and reinforced concrete, so that the tower of Pisa was accentuated. However, it is well balanced on a slope. There is currently no danger of it collapsing.
It is a great monument that we should all visit sometime, as it would be a great experience.

Tell me, what did you think, what is your opinion and if you would visit this place?
Everything have a life span and I think It is hitting its peak in existence. I learn it was constructed of metal and metal surfers from heat greatly. Even though metainance are regular on it, I think it is time to start thinking of building a new one. Though it may be a hard decision.
