I must admit that nature surprises human beings every day, because a few days ago there was a discovery that caught the attention not only of the inhabitants of China, but also of the whole world. In a province in southern China they found a forest with totally unknown species of trees.

El Sol del Parral

It is important to clarify that this area is characterized by its karst topography, which means that the landscape is prone to sinkholes and very deep caves. This lush and dense forest found a few days ago, could harbor species never seen before. They mention that this sinkhole is about 192 meters deep.

When entering through the main access of the same, it is possible to notice the existence of three openings that give access to the abyss. Without leaving aside that, all these ways lead to a space with trees of 40 meters, which look for the sunlight that filters from the heights.

However, this type of landscape is formed by the dissolution of a recoso bed, that is, when rainwater (slightly acidic) runs through the ground, widens the cracks in the ground and widens them so that over time they become more pronounced tunnels and voids. But, from the depths, if the caves are large enough, it is common for forests to grow. These rock formations are so common in the area that they are referred to as tiankeng, which exist in different sizes and depths.

As well as being a refuge for new life, sinkholes are also deep subway water reservoirs, as they are one of the main sources of water for the world's population. For that reason, they are prone to being drained and polluted, but the difference in this one is that the space is connected to the other 30 sinkholes found so far in the region.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, nature, the planet in general, has many places and species that have never been seen before by humans. Well, many people (including me) hope that this place will not be damaged during the investigations, because yes, it is very interesting and clearly has an unknown history, but a wrong move could damage it. Let's take care of the planet, the places it has!
