The cave of the reed flute a new world
This melodic cave is so impressive, I must admit that it attracted my full attention with just one image, which is incredible. China definitely has some really incredible places where history is just beginning. Well, the same happens with the Reed Flute Cave, a natural cave excavated in the Karst Limestone mountains over millions of years, highlighting that it has been, for 1200 million years one of the most famous attractions that Guilin in Guangxi has.
It is called Reed Flute Cave because of the green reeds that grow on the outside and with which you can make melodic flutes. Inside this magical cave we will find a different world, like that of a fairy tale movie. It is full of staclites, stalagmites, some stone columns and rock formations that were created due to carbonate deposition. It is also completely illuminated by lights of various colors, which makes the experience unforgettable.
This cave is about 240 meters long, and there are many interesting rock formations that resemble all kinds of strange things. Not to mention that many of these formations have acquired recognizable shapes of many creatures both mythological and natural images. It could also be said that some of them look like vegetables or the Statue of Liberty.
More than 70 inscriptions can be seen dating back as far as 759 BC. What I mean by this is that these are stories and poems written by some of the literary writers of the Tang Dynasty, who, by the way, visited the cave and these inscriptions give a clear idea of the great attraction that this place had in ancient times. However, the cave was forgotten for thousands of years until the 1940s by a group of refugees from the Japanese troops at that time.
Nowadays it is a very visited place, due to its history, its formations in general attract the attention of both visitors and the citizens themselves. I must admit that it is a cave out of this world and it would be a great experience to visit this magical place. Would you visit it?
