There are interesting places and events with the aim of transmitting some of the cultures of countries that are not usually well known in that area or simply not of interest. However, I recently attended a similar event, which not only caught my attention, but also the attention of many people in my country, since it was held in order to point out a little more about the culture of India, but also to welcome the ambassador and his family from that country.
Somewhere in Gran Caracas there was an event related to the traditions and customs of India, which achieved its goal. Well, the main idea was to attract the attention of the inhabitants of that city with its music, its history but above all with its great food, it was like magic! Not only the people from Caracas were there, but there were also people from India celebrating their traditions in a big way, because for them it was like being at home.
The event opened with a great dance, which was based on honoring their gods, but also welcoming their excellence with their family.
The music was very traditional, because they did it with their typical instruments. Not to mention that some of their songs only had melodies but no vocals, making the rhythm feel deep, it was magical.
After a few hours, they invited people to taste one of their typical dishes, having ingredients such as rice grains, fried lumpia, a portion of salad, some meat with sauce and breads to give it a special touch.
In this great event was also offered some of the offerings that they usually use to have a positive energy around them, such as jewelry that is used for the evil eye or similar to this.
They had great books, some were about the gods, others about wisdom and harmony. It was definitely a great moment!
Not to mention that they also offered typical food from my city, such as pizzas, pastries, cakes, among other edible products.
It was a great event, for me it meant everything, because I had a lot of emotion and one or another feeling found. Getting to know the cultures of others is an opportunity impossible to miss. It was one of my best and I am grateful for it.
Do you think that all cultures should be known by the whole world? Which one would you start with?
