Surely there are times when you feel many emotions together, sometimes sadness, anger and so on. And it's okay, we should not repress our emotions. There will always be times when you will feel that emotional slump, but the important thing is always to get out of it, out of those negative thoughts and not focus on them, because, you would go back to the beginning of that bottomless pit.

That said, I will leave you some recommendations that will surely help you to raise your spirits, self-esteem, among other positive and stable emotions:

  • Start by accepting your thoughts: Instead of fighting, arguing or even feeling overwhelmed by those negative thoughts or feelings, accept them. That is, You don't have to like them, but allow yourself to feel them in order to release them.

  • Do activities you enjoy: Start by making a list that lists all the things you like to do, for example, whether you like to paint, read, write, or spend time listening to music.

  • Give yourself encouragement: Acknowledge all that you have accomplished so far, giving yourself credit for making those difficult, yet really positive and good changes for you. Remind yourself that you are capable of doing many things, that you are enough and that any obstacle can be overcome.

  • Challenge negative and inaccurate thoughts: Refers to the fact that your main thoughts, might not be the only way to look at a situation. That is, ask yourself if the view you have corresponds to the facts and logic or if there may be other possible explanations for the situation.

However, I will also leave you with a list of recommendations to further improve your well-being:

  • Take care of your physical well-being: Remember that physical health also has a great impact on our mental health, therefore, it is important to try to make and digest healthy food, hydrate very well, do physical activity and avoid as much as possible the consumption of alcohol.

  • Try to sleep well: A good sleep makes a difference in how we feel mentally and physically, therefore, try to have regular sleep patterns and habits that help you feel better. An example would be to avoid any electronic device before going to bed, also reduce caffeine consumption and try to make the environment where we go to sleep as comfortable and quiet as possible.

  • Think about daily routines: Life changes for us or is like that for a while, therefore, we can add new routines that may take more time doing physical activity. You can also incorporate meaningful routines, such as reading, listening to music, among others. It's your decision, it's up to you whether to add them or not.
