The term bots is being placed more and more often in the media, but also in everyday communication, which is why it is necessary to explain the true meaning of this word. The term bot itself is taken from the English language and is used to denote a software robot, ie. an intelligent software agent that may have elements of artificial intelligence. In a figurative sense, it also means a person who opens accounts, fake profiles on social networks (twitter, facebook, ...) and puts positive comments on critical texts, and reacts to negative comments with resentment and defense.

They are often used by political parties or other interest groups or individuals to defend and popularize their own views and interests. These are programs that do something useful for your boss. Whether they collect some information from sites, or send emails and fill out web forms (spammers). An example is, for example, a google bot, which visits sites and monitors changes and puts data into their database, and then when we google something, we get an answer from the database that the bot previously filled. On the other hand, we have bots that register on forums and use the account only once and hang a couple of ads (eg "adult movie" and other similar things).

These are so-called spam bots. Various scripts are used to protect against spam bots. These are the letters we type before we send our response to a topic or similar. There is another type of "bots" on most regional sites. These are people who open more new accounts (profiles) and they are called "multi", which is actually the correct name, because the bot is a program, not alive. Possession of a multi is generally punishable by a “permanent ban”.

Spambot - leaves advertisements, malicious links on sites, sends emails to email addresses that he finds on your site, can register on your site or forum and then spam there as well. This type of bot, as you guessed, belongs to the malicious ones.

Chatbot - usually used on porn sites where a visitor to a porn site shows a chatbox like the one that appears when someone contacts you on Facebook To protect themselves from this intelligent attack, webmasters set up, in most cases, CAPTCHA protection, where you are asked to answer a question, recognize a photo, solve a mathematical equation and the like that spambot does not expect.
