Have you ever imagined what the famous Nedođija, the home of Peter Pan, looks like and have you ever tried to skillfully climb tall trees like Tarzan? Nedođija exists, and the members of this tribe are all a bit Tarzan, if we exclude the hanibalism that is still in their practice.

Deep in an inaccessible jungle in the southeastern Indonesian province of Papua, about 150 kilometers from the Arafur Sea, lives the Korowai tribe, a clan completely isolated from the rest of the world.

The Korowai tribe had no contact with the outside world until 1974, when they were discovered by Dutch missionaries. This isolated tribe is the only group of people in the world whose primary residence is high in the treetops. Although many houses are made at heights of 6-12 meters, many of them are made at heights of over 35 meters.

This soil is prone to floods and grows so moist from various insect populations, so life here is very dangerous. That is why the tribe moved to the canopy. The banjan tree is usually used to serve as the main pillar that runs through the house. The crown of the tree is cut and made from it between the branches. The walls and roof are then made of the same wood from which the frames are made, all joined together with rattan.

The floor is obviously made of stronger materials, so that people can walk around the house without fear of decay. It has to be extremely solid, because every house has about a dozen people living in it.

The Korovai tribe makes these houses by hand, and the tools they use are reminiscent of those of prehistoric times. Each clan is made up of several men, their wives and children. Women are taken from other clans by agreement.

When a member of a tribe died, it was always assumed that it was due to the action of black magic, and not due to natural death. Therefore, it was necessary to find a member of the tribe in which the evil spirit resides, kill him and eat him in order to save the others.

Members of one of these tribes are believed to have eaten Michael Rockefeller, the son of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller. He disappeared back in 1861 during an expedition in which he observed members of these tribes. His body was never found
