From the artificial lake, which is located in the very center of the Chinese city of Wujin, a modern architectural marvel has been blooming since 2013 - the "Lotus Building" which shows three phases of lotus flowering, from a young bud to a mature flower.
The building changes color depending on the time of day and weather conditions, which makes it even more attractive, and the beautiful complex, which spreads over about 3.5 hectares, includes an artificial pond and a national park.
It is conceived as an inhabited sculptural form, which emerges from the lake. Colors and light combine with each other and illuminate the space, creating a bright and upbeat interior atmosphere, regardless of the weather conditions.
The hexagonal mosaic covers all exterior and interior surfaces and creates an endless space with a Studio 505 7m high chandelier at the top, which becomes the center of attention both outside and inside.
The project is designed to reduce energy consumption with over 2,500 geothermal piles guided through the artificial lake base, the entire mass of lake water and soil, which are used to provide cooling in summer and warm air in winter for both lotuses and two floors of the building below the lake.
Design Studio 505 creates a vibrant public empire. The key to that is the night lighting system that changes colors every 20 seconds.
Lotus Center and National Park have become the most popular sights in Wujin, as a contribution to the social and cultural life of the city.
