Football, that most important side thing in the world for most men.

And do you know how and where this game originated ...

You don't know, so here's a couple to say about it.

The first written documents about ball games date back to the Hou dynasty, which ruled until 225 BC. These documents preserve the story of the game of Cun-Kih which, loosely translated, would mean: kicking a ball.

This game was played only by Chinese soldiers in a rectangular area with two pierced reeds as tripods. The ball was egg-shaped, filled with feathers and fur. Between 32 and the sixth year p.n.e. according to the records of Emperor Sheng Ti, due to the great popularity of the game and the people were allowed to shoot the ball unhindered in their free time.

This game was also liked by the Japanese who transferred it to their islands in the seventh century. There, in his free time, the emperor's soldiers played it on big festivals in front of the emperor and the nobleman.

In Europe, the ball was played from the 12th to the 14th century on folk festivals with the blessing of all those who prescribed the way of life at that time. It was a time when many things were forbidden, fortunately, playing ball was not. However, in 1349 in England, by the decision of King Edward III, the game of ball was banned, and a similar feature was brought twenty years later by the French King Charles V. He forbade his subjects to "ball", because in his opinion this game occupied so much the people to distract him from useful things.

In Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, a kind of football called the Florentine calcio was played from the 14th to the 16th century. It started as a game in the open space, and soon moved to fenced yards with stands for spectators. Football in the Apennines is still called today

"kalcho".

You think that's all, but it's not, there's more.

We have a record from North America from 1634, and it says that the Indians from Massachusetts kicked the ball barefoot on the spacious prairies, as well as that such games lasted from sunrise until sunset.

The beginning of the 19th century in England was characteristic of individual sports, fencing, gymnastics, etc.

Then at Rugby School in 1823, student William Web Ellis grabbed the ball with his hands and ran to the opposite end of the field. His friends asked him to return the ball to them which he did, but with his foot. It was a precise shot, which amazed everyone, so they asked him to repeat. The repeated kick with the foot in a certain place delighted the students, so they also started to add with their feet. The first tripods were looms on the sports field, and then everything went by itself.

In the beginning, the ball was kicked only by school teams, and in 1855, the first football club in the world, Sheffield, was founded. Two years later, Halam was founded, and in 1859, Blackhit. On September 8, 1863, the general rules of the football game were agreed upon, and then football was separated from rugby. As the rules of the game were established, the students of Cambridge, Oxford, Rugby, and Harrow increasingly kicked the ball. At the initiative of the Cambridge players, on December 1, 1863, a football organization was officially founded in London, which is the first football association in the world.

Everyone played football on the island, so the federations of Scotland, Ireland and Wales were soon founded, and in 1872, the first international match between England and Scotland was held. Thirteen years later, professionalism was recognized in England, and in 1888, the first professional league was founded with 12 clubs according to the double point system.

In 1893, the Association of Football Referees was founded, which introduced new rules and kept those that passed the test in practice. At the beginning of the 20th century, the ball was kicked all over Europe, and on May 24, 1904, the International Football Organization, FIFA, was created, with its headquarters in Zurich.

And where is football at the Olympics.

The football game also started at the renewed Olympic Games. At the second Olympics in Paris in 1900, the national teams of France and England played, whose national team consisted entirely of the university club Eaton Park (0: 4). At the Olympics in St. Louis, four years later, a match was held between Canada and the USA (4: 0), and at the fourth Olympics in 1908 in London, football entered the official part of the program of games. Three years later, the overseas countries: the USA, Argentina and Chile gained FIFA membership, and in 1917, the first South American Championship was held.

After the First World War, FIFA resumed its activities, trying to create the World Cup, which succeeded in 1930 in Uruguay, Montevideo,

Champion Uruguay (1st title)

Second place Argentina

Third place in the United States

Fourth place Yugoslavia (my country)
