The CIA had a secret MK-ultra project, which was carried out during 1957 and 1960, and whose goal was to control the human mind using drugs and methods such as hypnosis. During the early period of the Cold War, the CIA was convinced that the Communists had discovered a cure or technique that would allow them to control the human mind. In response, the CIA launched its own secret program, called MK-ultra, in search of a mind control drug that could be a weapon against the enemy.
That is why in 1952, the then CIA director Allen Dales approved the MK-ultra program. Under the supervision of Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, agents experimented with various forms of behavioral modifications. The fact that they focused on the transformation and control of personality led to the fact that most conspiracy theorists believe that the military application of experiments was only a cover, and that the real goal was the control of civilians. Some people who were experimented with, including Gottlieb himself, were drug users, so drinks with the addition of LSD were often used at parties, where people's reactions were monitored.
Most of the patients were volunteers, but there were also many cases when experiments were done on people who did not know they were guinea pigs. So a certain Frank Olsen killed himself after a psychotic episode he had because, without his knowledge, he was given LSD. Secret programs that included the use of psychoactive substances were also applied during the war in Vietnam, LSD was given to soldiers, and they were also implemented on the general population.
During the sixties, that drug was inserted into the water supply system of an American city. The entire population was subjected to the experiment, and then a study was done on the influence of LSD on the behavior of citizens. Later, LSD was combined with the so-called "Angelic dust." Officially, these tests were completed in the 1960s, although many people claim that this hidden “war” on the human mind continues today. Government documentation is limited.
In 1973, CIA Director Richard Helms ordered the MKULTRA archive to be completely destroyed. However, this was never done, but continued with even more brutal improvement of what has already been achieved, and an impressive amount has been achieved!
Experiments involving electroshocks, mental and physical abuse have been used systematically on a large number of subjects, including children.
