Being a parent is definitely hard work. However, showing discipline when necessary makes it even more difficult. Why? Because without discipline, children continue to be rebellious, which exhausts parents, and parents give inconsistent instructions, which confuses children.
On the other hand, loving and balanced discipline can train a child's thinking and shape their moral character. It also helps children feel secure as they grow up to be responsible adults. But where can you find a reliable guide to disciplining your children?
The value of biblical principles
The Bible says, Stupidity is tied to the heart of a child.
While children can be kind and gentle, they tend to do stupid things too. This is why children need discipline.By recognizing this fact, you can assume your responsibilities as parents.Do not take away discipline from a child.
You don't have to worry about balanced discipline harming your kids or getting them tan later. When given with love, discipline will help your children humbly accept correction, a skill they themselves need as adults. The Bible says, Whatever a man sows he will reap.
Of course, parents want to protect their children, and for good reason. Again, however, a balance is needed. Do your children a favor by "saving" them from the consequences of their mistakes or by standing up for them when a teacher or other adult sees real wrongdoing. Instead, think about those actions you need to take on a regular basis. By doing this, you will teach your child to respect authority, including yours. The child who remains unrestrained shames the mother.
Be loving, consistent and sensitive
While parents are never to be violent, they should also avoid the other extreme: to be allowed. Children of legal parents have little idea that the adults in the family are responsible. If you don't take your authority, your child may assume that you are in charge. Inevitably, he will make reckless decisions that will cause you and him distress.A man is walking. . . he clings to his wife, and the two will be one flesh.
According to the Bible, a man and a woman must get married before the birth of their children and stay together after the children have grown up and gone. With that in mind, you are first a husband, then a parent. However, if your priorities are reversed, your child may think for himself more than he needs. A child-centered family also weakens the marital relationship.
Help for parents
To achieve your goal as a parent, your discipline must follow these principles.
Be loving. Do not provoke your children so that they are not discouraged.
To be coherent. Let your word 'yes' mean yes, your 'no' mean no.
Be reasonable.I will discipline you accordingly.
