Nowadays in Pakistan dengue fever is rising at an alarming rate. The most affected areas are the cities and villages of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan that were previously affected by the flood. People who are living in slums and unable to take care of their hygiene are mostly affected by the denguee virus.

Causes of Dengue Fever

In months of August, September, and October stagnant water leads to the development of Aedes mosquito larvae, which later turn into adult mosquitos carrying the dengue virus in their body and when they bite any person they transmit the virus to the body of healthy individuals.

Symptoms

The most common symptom of dengue fever is persistent fever specifically the fever that lasts for 2-6 days. During this season if anyone feels fever, pain in the back and abdominal cavity, frequent vomiting and eyes must consult their doctor. In dengue fever, the platelets count of the infected person drops. The normal platelet count for a healthy adult is 150k-450k. But in dengue patients, it suddenly drops and might lead to the person's death.

Treatment & Medication

Till now, no Antibiotic proved effective against this disease but taking over-the-counter medicine might lower the fevered intensity. In addition, the patient should stay hydrated as much as he can. The patient should also isolate himself to mitigate the prevalence of the virus in healthy people.

Safety Measures

Keep great care of your hygiene. Drain stagnant water from all places in your surroundings. Whenever you go outside, must apply mosquito repellent lotion on your hands, face, and other uncovered parts of the body. Try to drink plenty of juices.

A Random Advice

I pray you all are safe from any kind of health issues. But if you encounter any health-rated problem, one thing always kept in mind. Whenever you go to private hospitals for seeking treatment and the doctor asks you for certain tests. Please never go to test from the laboratory of private hospitals. They make fake reports just to increase the patient's visit to the doctor and to enhance the profit of the hospital.

A True Incident

In the year 2019 I was suffering from a fever. I went to a well-reputed private hospital and they diagnosed that I am having denguee fever. The very next day my father said, we should go for another test from another laboratory. After getting reports we came to know previous reports were fake. I was having a fever just because of a sudden change in temperature.
