Being overweight is not good because you are prone to many health problems such as diabetes, heart failure, high blood pressure, stroke, osteoarthritis, fatty liver cancer certain cancers. Gaining few pounds during a year it seems not a big deal. But these pounds can add up if not being maintained or controlled over time. How can you tell if our weights could increase the chances of developing health problems? We can track it using BMI(Body Mass Index) through these method it may help us track our health risk.
The BMI is one way to tell if we are Normal weight, Overweight and Obese. It measures height in relation to our weight and provides scores to help us place in a category:
• normal weight: BMI of 18.5 to 24.9
• overweight: BMI of 25 to 29.9
• obesity: BMI of 30 or higher
A friend of mine Jerson S. Fellas is a food lover person every time he always brings food in school that is why he is so fat. He don’t mind even he became fatter and fatter he just want to enjoy the food without knowing he became overweight. That time he was bullied because he has a big fat belly and can’t even ran fast because he was so very heavy time to time he’s just ignoring those people who bully him, he just enjoy and mind his own live and eat all what he wants. Jerson is gaining weight every year that he can’t see the figure of his body turning bigger and bigger he’s just enjoying his food an minding his own business some of his classmates have been worried about his lifestyle and they are encouraging him to reduce weight and start to workout in fitness gyms but he just ignore it and continue to eat unhealthy foods. Since elementary until his Senior high school days he’s being bullied because of his state of being a fat person until he started to enter college he was still being teased because of his fat belly and that time he was being pressured because of school work and he even had a sleepless nights because of complying his studies. By that time he is experiencing health problems such as neck pain maybe because of high blood pressure and his injuries are not healing fast and his eyesight slightly blurring because of being to attach in gadget he has no time to exercise that’s why he’s gaining weight from time to time that is why he was scared and start to research about benefits of having overweight and there he is, he was scare that he may be attracted to different health problem complication. By that time he started to workout little by little to avoid health problem and after a several months he was able to achieve his dream that dream is to lose his weight and get a fit body. He lose over 20kg his weight turn from 87kg to 67kg for over 7 months of training and control for his diet. And now he is still maintaining his diet and enjoy his happy life without any doubts of being in health complication.
