Responses from Cubans #1

After projecting that many international media are lying about Cuba, I received very interesting comments about why their information is no longer credible.

The reality of Cuba is not as cruel as some people against the government paint it, nor as sweet as you describe it.

Health and education without worrying about paying is true. Although currently with the shortages of medicines the service is not the best.

There is a basic standard food that allows you not to starve but it is very basic.

For one month

- 4 pounds of sugar

- 1/4 liter of oil

- 5 or 6 pounds of rice

- beans

- peas

- coffee

- egg 5 units

- chicken (very little) and two or three other things

This is not given away, you are simply guaranteed that it will be in the store for you to buy.

Cuba is not the worst country in the world.

The big problem is that for the government everything is black and white.

You are either with the system or against it.

When you don't want to dialogue and recognize mistakes things can reach violent extremes.

Here are some things that generate discontent - Until a few years ago Cubans could not go to the same hotels as foreigners.

- Currently foreign capital investment is promoted in the country, but Cubans cannot invest.

- You cannot vote for the president directly, nor can you propose a candidate. - The government is not transparent Well so much for my clarification.

Let's see, first of all I must clarify that I am not an advocate of anything, I do not and will not talk about politics. Those topics are useless to discuss because they depend on interests far above anyone who thinks he knows anything about it.

Certainly Cuba is a country with lots of problems of all kinds. Lack of many, many things, some simple and others very serious. Whose fault it is is also irrelevant, blame will not help anyone either.

I also clarify that I am Cuban and that I live here, in the center of the problem. Because it is very easy to shout from afar and demand from afar. I do not take away anyone's right, but those who are no longer here, for me, have no vote. Let him live his luck to leave Cuba peacefully in his other place.

Ninety percent of what people know about what is happening in Cuba is false or disproportionately exaggerated. Yes, there have been protests. Yes, there have been riots and some violence. But things are nowhere near what the international news reports say they are.

And I am not going by the supposedly "manipulated" press and television. I repeat that I live here, in the center of everything. I live in the capital city of Ciego de Avila province. I have no evidence from other provinces, but I can assure you that absolutely nothing is happening in my city. I have been working for two days in the mornings (only the mornings because of Covid) with total normality. And yesterday, I went out in the morning to some markets to buy some food and in the street everything is normal. People queuing up to buy things and walking normally in the streets.

Not everything is rosy, of course. The situation with covid is really complicated. There is a lack of food, medicines, there are more and more restrictions due to the pandemic and the hospitals are in serious trouble. That is true.

But this situation that is being talked about internationally that there seems to be a civil war in Cuba is honestly, laughable.

As it is clearly stated, Cuba is exaggerated in the international media, it is not a perfect country but it provides better living conditions to millions of people.

In the international arena, the United States has been judged to have stopped using a lie as a political campaign and opinions have been taken from both the president of Mexico and independent organizations.
