You've got to do things that calm and energize you in order to conquer depression. It involves following a healthy lifestyle, learning how to handle stress better, setting limits on what you can do, and planning enjoyable activities for your day.
Do stuff that you like (or used to)
Although you can't force yourself to have fun or enjoy enjoyment, even when you don't feel like it, you can motivate yourself to do stuff. Maybe you're surprised at how much better you feel once you're out in the world. Even if your depression doesn't instantly lift, when you make time for enjoyable things, you will eventually feel more upbeat and energetic.
Pick up a sport or a former hobby that you used to enjoy. Express yourself through music, painting, or writing creatively. Go out and have friends. Take a day trip to a zoo, a ballpark, or the mountains.
Help your wellbeing
Aiming for 8 hours of sleep. Depression usually includes sleep problems; the mood suffers, whether you're sleeping too little or too much. By learning safe sleep patterns, get on a better sleep schedule.
Keep tension under control. Stress not only prolongs and worsens depression, but it may cause it as well. Find out all the stuff that stress you out throughout your life, such as job overload, financial concerns, or unsupportive relationships, and find ways to ease the burden and regain power.
Practice methods to relax. A daily practice of relaxation can help alleviate depressive symptoms, decrease tension, and improve feelings of joy and well-being. Try yoga, deep breathing, relaxing of progressive muscles, or meditation.
To cope with depression, build a "wellness toolbox"
Come up with a list of things for a short mood boost that you can do. The more you have "tools" to deal with depression, the better. Each day, try to incorporate a few of these ideas, even if you feel fine.
In nature, invest some time.
List what you enjoy about yourself.
Read a great book.
See a hilarious movie or TV show.
Take a hot, long bath.
Take care of some minor duties.
Play with your animals.
Talk face-to-face to friends or relatives.
Only listen to music.
Do a random thing.
