A Bartender's Journal
The bartending profession has been around for hundreds of years. If we look back farther, there is the potential of seeing similarities of what we do even thousands of years ago. If there is the possibility of combining all those experiences into one being or form, that entity would be all knowing. For an individual such as ourselves, we are not a god, but a mortal being. Through the many struggles that life presents us, we are incapable of truly focusing on all the ideas that may be beneficial. In the lapse of that understanding, we inhibit ourselves from thinking through the intoxication of a certain elixir.
The title of bartender is often seen as powerful in some regard, but also seen as a title not so prestigious by others. For whatever the matter, it is a role held by many, who provide a product and service to many more. For each region has its own style and accustom in this line of work. The experiences are relatively the same across the board, yet the size, style, and location of the bar create for unique experiences.
Patrons enter the establishment to socialize, and partake in the mind altering of their own taste. Each individual has their own story, their own experiences, ideas, motives, and personalities. For everyone who enters the doors, they are an experience for who ever tends bar.
As you read forward, it is important to know that life is serious. However, it is not fun, unless you have fun. The in formalities, the non-political correctness, the rude, the lewd, and the down right fucked up, are all part of human nature. The social lubricant associated, is one that has brought forth many ideas of worth. The argument that it has brought forth many bad ideas and behaviors, is at an equal level. At this stage we will assume that a number of wonderful things have occurred with its inclusion. All the while understanding the negative issues, and health affects this drug has had on people.
By understanding the experience through the eyes of a bartender, the aim to provide knowledge of oneself is desired. The experiences are not fully understood on side of the bar, some patrons ignorance or blindness to social interactions. They are often the cause of stress and frustration to the person on the other side of the bar. As we move forward together, our goal is to bridge the gap over the barrier that is the bar top. We should aim to increase the relationship and experiences between bartender and patron, as well as patron to patron, and among staff. The stories and ideas set forth are intended to create an even better bar environment by establishing patron etiquette, and training bar staff with proper ways of service.
(This is a draft straight from my notebook. Hopefully you enjoy it. Please give me feedback into how these pages read, topics to write on, and any serious grammatical/format errors. Thank you. -G<3)
It reads nicely! Though personally I'd be more interested in the stories of the people in the bar :) Bartenders hear a lot of interesting stuff and see lots of interesting happening.
