Up-and-Coming Treads - Happy International Youth Day!
The world’s population is currently growing at an alarming rate. In the last few years, it has increased by 83 million. This is due to the fact that there are more young people than ever before. The United Nations projects that in 2030 there will be more young people compared to now. This is a concern as it leads to an increase in global inequality, hunger and poverty. Young people are responsible for this situation; they have not prepared themselves enough for the future world population boom. In fact, this increase will lead to social and economic instability if young people don’t do something about it now.
Young people face many problems when they are unprepared for life’s challenges. They lack essential knowledge that would help them make good decisions and achieve their goals in life. For example, only about 27% of high school students in the U.S have a basic understanding of economics or politics today. This is unacceptable! It’s vital that young people gain an understanding of their society so they can create CHANGE and make it better for themselves and everyone else involved. People will be much better off if they know how to properly plan for their future, this includes both personal and national growth!
Young people can make great changes towards improving the world if they are willing to do so! For example, you can improve your physical health by exercising regularly and eating healthy food instead of junk food or fast food daily limits on your time could help you earn money while you learn how to prepare yourself better than ever before could provide free access to education or employment for anyone with a willingness to learn could lead you to make good decisions which positively affect everyone around you.
Young people are a country’s greatest resource because of their energy, intelligence and willingness to learn. To prepare young people for future opportunities, countries must provide them with the tools they need to achieve their goals. Young people have their own special challenges that must be addressed early in their development. To help address these challenges, countries must effectively plan for the needs and interests of young people throughout life. This begins with establishing and maintaining a positive environment for youth development throughout one’s life.
While planning for future opportunities is necessary, it is not enough - current conditions must also be conducive to young people’s growth and development. Young people are often under intense academic and career pressure which can negatively affect their mental and physical health. Schools must be aware of this so they can adjust school schedules accordingly so students can get adequate rest and exercise. All works and no play make jack boy dull!
