Filipino culture and tradition is known to be rich and diverse mostly influenced by history since pre-colonial period when our archipelagos were led by Rajas, Datus and Sultans of different tribes until the voyager Magellan and his fleet came. That's where the Spaniard colonization and the introduction of Christianity started and conquered the island for three hundred thirty-three long year.
In 1898, the Spanish rule ended after having been defeated by the Americans and then, overruled the Philippine from that point until 1942 when the Japanese soldiers occupied the country during the launch of World War II.
Three years later, the U.S. forces came back and triumph over the foreign occupants. In 1946, the Republic of the Philippines finally gained its Independence.
The said history dealt a huge impact in our present culture, tradition and beliefs.
Filipinos celebrate numerous unique festivals, holidays and events throughout the island. Aside from that, Filipino people also carry out customs and traditions passed down from their ancestors; believe in countless superstitions which makes the Philippine Culture rich and unique.

Filipino culture is a combination of Eastern and Western cultures. The Philippines exhibits aspects found in other Asian countries with a Malay heritage, yet its culture also displays a significant number of Spanish and American influences.
