* Harmful aspects of waste and extravagance:
There are many harmful aspects to waste and extravagance that can threaten the balance of the individual, the family, the society, the state, and even the international balance. Just as wasteful spending disrupts the management of the world, it also destroys the Hereafter of the individual. The following are some of the disadvantages of wastage and waste.
1. Waste incites haraam earnings: People often fall into financial crisis due to waste and extravagance. Then it becomes difficult for him to meet the necessary expenses of the world. As a result, he is driven towards haraam earning. But the body made of haraam food will not enter Paradise. Rasulullah (sm) said, ‘Hell is the suitable place for every body which is made up of Haram’.
2. Sins are practiced through waste: People get involved in various sins through waste. He uses his limbs in disobedience to God and keeps them away from obedience. As a result, he is inclined to spend money in a forbidden way. Such as alcohol, gambling, lottery, smoking, drinking all kinds of drugs, travel, fun, watching movies, etc. Through this, along with the waste of time and money, the practice of sin is unleashed.
In addition, by eating too much outside the guidance of Islam, he brings his own harm. But Islam has laid down beautiful principles of moderate food consumption without wasting it. The Prophet (sm) said, ‘The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. A few lokma foods are enough for a person, which will keep his spine straight. And if absolutely necessary, keep one-third of the stomach for food, one-third for drink and one-third for breathing.
3. Wealth will be accounted for in the Hereafter: In the Hereafter, everyone will have to give an account of his wealth to God Almighty, from where he has earned wealth and where he has spent it. The Prophet (sm) said, ‘The position of the son of Adam will not move at all until he is asked about five things on the Day of Resurrection. You will be asked about his life, how did he spend it? About his youth, what has destroyed it? About his wealth, where did he earn it and where did he spend it? And did he act according to what he had learned?
4. Waste and waste is the name of the destruction of wealth: Wealth is wasted through waste and waste. Which Allah dislikes. The Prophet (sm) said, ‘Allah dislikes your three actions- (1) talking nonsense, (2) wasting wealth and (3) asking too many questions’.
5. Being unblessed and falling into poverty: Wealth is not blessed due to waste. As a result, resources are depleted at one time. And that person then starts borrowing. Eventually he fell into poverty.
Waste and waste: Reality
Islam forbids the consumption of haraam food and prescribes the etiquette of eating. But in the present era, overeating and wasting food has become a fashion. On the other hand, food and beverage companies are destroying consumer money. A variety of luxury events are being organized for two consecutive days for overeating. Muslims are also running after blind imitations of people who are fed up with materialistic ideas. It is as if waste has become their bad habit.
From the condition of the dustbins, it is estimated how much food we are wasting daily. And in this way the animal character is infiltrating our individual, family, society and state. But the poor are struggling to make ends meet. They are starving to death. If the amount of food we waste every day was distributed among the poor, it would be possible to satisfy the hunger of many starving people.
Remedy for wastage and waste:
The essence of Islam is moderation. Just as Islam forbids waste, it also forbids miserliness. That is why in the Holy Qur'an and Sahih Hadith, boundaries have been set for Muslims in food, clothing, accommodation, beauty, means of communication, marriage. Here are some suggestions on how to look or get an appointment for antique items:
1. Moderation: This is the middle ground between waste and miserliness. But most people do not reflect this principle. But Islam has instructed to adopt moderation. Allaah says about the characteristics of the believing servants, ‘When they spend, they do not waste or are stingy. Rather, they are in the middle of both '(Furqan 25/6).
The Prophet (sm) said, ‘You eat, drink, give alms and wear, but without arrogance and waste’.
2. Beauty: Beauty is definitely legal. However, it is not legal to waste. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “O children of Adam! Wear beautiful clothes during every salat. You eat and drink. But don't waste it. Surely Allah does not love the wasteful ones' (A'raf 7/31).
Prophet Kareem (sm) said, ‘Allah loves to see the effect of His blessings on His servants’. However, in this case, it must be noted that it should not exceed the limits. So as not to fall into the category of waste.
3. Don't be arrogant: Islam does not allow spending of wealth to show arrogance. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
‘O you who believe! Do not waste your gifts with lies and affliction. Like a man who spends his wealth to be seen, and he does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. The example of that person is like a smooth rock with some soil on it. Then it rained heavily and left him clean. In this way, they do not get any benefit from what they earn. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people '(Baqarah 2/284).
The Prophet (sm) said, ‘Allah will not look with mercy on the person who arrogantly hangs his clothes (under the ankles) (on the Day of Resurrection). And one of the reasons for waste and extravagance is arrogance. Because usually people spend excessively out of arrogance. Which amounts to waste. So if you can give up ego, you will be able to survive from waste.
4. Not to live a luxurious life: Not to indulge in the glamor and luxury of the world. Islam does not support luxury. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And when We intend to destroy a township, We instruct its leaders. Then they became wicked there. As a result, punishment was imposed on him. Then We destroyed it '(Bani Isra'il 16/17).
5. Aversion to the world: This is an admirable quality. Very few people can possess this quality. Prophets and messengers were endowed with this quality. And in order to possess this quality, one must suppress one's own needs and give priority to others over oneself. And in the case of the economy, it is very beneficial. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And those who lived in this city before the arrival of the Muhajireen and believed. Those who love the emigrants and have no desire for what has been given to them (from Fi). And they prefer them over themselves, even though they are in need. In fact, those who are free from stinginess of heart are the ones who are successful '(Hashr 59/9).
. To be careful in earning a living: To make a living by understanding well. It is narrated on the authority of Abu Saeed Khudri (R) that some Sahabis of Ansar asked Rasulullah (sm) for something and he gave it to them. Again, if they asked, he gave it to them. Even everything he had was gone. Then he said, ‘I do not deposit the wealth I have without giving it to you. But whoever keeps away from supplication, Allah will save him. And whoever does not depend on Allah, He will make him free from want. And Allah is patient with him who is patient. Better a poor horse than no horse at all.
So it is desirable to be a little satisfied with the mind, not to lay hands on anyone, to be patient. And from a physical point of view, it is desirable to earn a living by working. Rasulullah (sm) said, ‘One of you collects wood from the forest with his rope and carries it on his back to the market, then sells it there. By this Allah will make him self-sufficient, it is better for man than his hand leaves. Because the people of Makkah used to do business, and the people of Madinah used to cultivate.
. Limiting expenses within one's own income: The Prophet (sm) said, 'One bed is for the husband, another for the wife, a third for the guest and a fourth for the devil'. Is not. It is possible to meet one's own expenses with one's own resources.
9. Practicing charity: Rasulullah (sm) said, ‘The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the giver and the lower hand is the receiver.
Besides, thinking about reckoning in the hereafter, being aware of the way of life of Rasool (sm), Sahabaye Keram and Salaf Salehin, avoiding the company of wasteful people and thinking about death will make it possible to refrain from wasting and wasting, InshaAllah.
The bad habit of waste has engulfed us on all sides. We are always getting the wrath of Allah by engaging in this heinous act. But Islam has clearly forbidden waste and extravagance. No Muslim can ever squander even a small part of his wealth. To stop wasting, start over. Only when a person makes a firm commitment not to waste and waste himself and is motivated by a sense of accountability in the Hereafter out of fear of Allah, can waste and waste be stopped, not otherwise. Therefore, it is obligatory to refrain from this waste and waste at all levels from individual life to state life. May Allah grant us Tawfiq - Amen!
