Truthfulness is a favorite and desired quality of all people irrespective of religion or caste. On the other hand, untruth and falsehood are hated by everyone.

All nations agree that truth and falsehood are loved and disliked. The quality of truthfulness is therefore naturally more important in Islam. For this reason, it is seen that the Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him, was conferred the title of Al-Amin, that is, the truthful one, even before he received the Prophethood. Needless to say, his sincerity after receiving prophethood.

Revival is a shining proof of true honesty.

When Makkah was conquered, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) issued a warrant for the assassination of some of the great leaders of the disbelievers.

Abdullah bin Abu Sarah was one of them. He was a revelation writer before he became an apostate. He covered his body and came to his close relative 'Uthman. He said, "Intercede for me with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so that the Muslims do not kill me."

Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) immediately took him to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). Everyone who met the disciple on the way was about to kill him. But 'Uthman stood in the way and said that he was being taken to the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Then when he reached the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) following 'Uthmaan (ra) with trembling steps. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) looked at him and said, 'Uthmaan! Who is the man? 'Uthman replied,' Abdullah bin Abu Sarah. He repented and came to your court. He apologizes to you. `The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) once looked at him and became silent. Majlis is silent. No one is talking.

'Uthman said, "O Messenger of God, Ibn Abu Sarah has repented and returned to you." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is silent again. Seeing the situation, the man approached in fear. 'Uthman said the same thing for the third time, this time the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "We gave him security."

After Ibn Abu Sarah went out with 'Uthman, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, rebuked the Companions and said, "Did not any of you cut him in two with a sword before we gave him security?" In response, they said, "We did not understand that you had such an intention." If you were pointing at us, it would still be. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, 'No betrayal of the eyes is good for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). `

This shows how far he was from lying. How disgusting lies were to him. Far from telling untruths, he has considered only the wink of an eye as an insult to the truth. Because the gesture of falsehood leads directly to the door of falsehood. If gestures are so serious, how much of a crime is it to lie? If you swear falsely, you can't wait to tell.

Weak people who cannot speak boldly directly take refuge in lies and flattery. But the Prophet never did that. The liar insults himself before being insulted among people. Because, another name for lying is insult. Only lowly people can develop the habit of lying and lying. The belief of the believer will be pure. The character will be pure. He will never lie. Do not take refuge in untruths.

Once someone tells a lie, they get used to telling it again and again. Then lies became his character. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If a person always tells a lie, he is called a qiyaab or liar by Allah. `

The danger of lies

If a person spreads a lie and spreads it around, he will bear the burden of the sins of all those who are deceived by that lie.

Lies usually spread quickly after. Long days are no secret. The person who is trying to save some interest today through lies or deeds or wants to avoid any loss, will soon face a greater loss by exposing lies, lose friends or lose his job. Therefore, the truth is very clear and peaceful. False Budd on the other hand is cloudy and turbulent.

The level of lies

There are several levels of lies. The worst and worst level is to lie about Allah and His Messenger. Irshad said: ‘Those (disbelievers) are knowingly lying about Allah. `

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Lying to me is not like lying to anyone else.

The manner in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was lied to is to attribute to him anything which he did not say or did. And this is the name of the hadith Maozu or fabricated hadith. Going to be strict in this regard, some scholars said that compiling and disseminating any hadith without verifying it correctly is also a kind of falsehood.

The second level of lies

Achieving something unjust through lying. Or ruin someone's rights. Such as giving false testimony. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Beware not to bear false witness.

Similarly, to destroy the rights of another brother by swearing falsely. As a punishment he will be burnt in the fire of hell.

Thus destroying the rights of an orphan miskin or harming someone through lies. For example, putting someone in jail with a false witness.

That lie is not a lie

There are some areas where lying is not considered a lie. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The lie that resolves human quarrels is not a lie. The hadith says:

He will not be a liar if he says it is unrealistic to settle disputes between people. [Albani: Sahihul Adabil Mufrad: 296]

Based on this, the ulama 'said, "If you tell a lie to avoid being attacked by an enemy, it will not be considered a lie."

In the same way, a lie can be told about a husband becoming dear to his wife. Such as appreciating its beauty, quality, clothing and food etc.

May Allah grant us all the tawfiq to tell the truth and avoid lies.
