The heart is the leading organ of the human body. Man's physical and mental well-being, good and bad, depends on the heart. Human life is conducted under the guidance of the heart. That is why Islam has made it obligatory to attain purity of heart. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): ‘On the Day when wealth and children will be of no avail; But he will come with a pure heart. '(Surah: Shu'ara, verses 7-89)
The reasons why the tenderness of the heart is lost
Sin, wickedness and sinful thoughts remove the fear of God from the heart of man and create hardship in it. Here are some notable sins:
One. Illegal love and affection: Illegal love and affection relationship removes the fear of God from the heart of man and leads him to the path of multiple sins. A heart troubled by illicit love does not care about anything from lies and deception to murder and murder. According to Islamic law, the love of man belongs to Allah alone. His relationship with man will also be based on his relationship with God. He will love for Allah and hate for Allah. Allah says, "And Allah loves the believers the most." (Surat al-Baqara, 175)
Two. Friendship with worldly people: Friendship with worldly people and uncontrolled busyness of worldly life turn people away from God. Lets disconnect his heart from the great Creator. It gives birth to anxiety and misery. He became desperate for worldly interests. The ungodly people then became his friends. Allah says, ‘Today friends are enemies of one another, except the God-fearing.’ (Surah: Zukhruf, verse: 6)
Three. Boundless worldly illusions: Boundless worldly illusions push people away from Allah. Eliminates the remembrance of Allah from the heart. Disrupts the balance of human thought and action. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The lust of the world is the root of all sins.’ (Sunan al-Tirmidhi)
Four. Haram earning: Haram livelihood removes the fear of Allah from the heart of man. It creates pollution and harshness. When people steal and rob, they eat the wealth they are forced to collect; Even when he wastes in legitimate work, he loses the courage to do good. Satan's influence continues to grow. The control of his heart goes into the hands of Satan.
Fearless hard heart of God
The fearless heart of God is full of inertia. As a result, he cannot continue to do good deeds. He does not get the taste of prayer and worship because he has no love for Allah in his heart; Rather, he is reluctant to appear before God. Apart from this, the recitation of the Qur'an, the remembrance of Allah, the good news and warning of the Qur'an, the death of man, the shroud-burial-grave cannot have any effect on the fearless heart of Allah. Allah says about such people, ‘When My punishment came upon them, why did they not supplicate? Rather, their hearts have become hardened. Satan has embellished what they have done. '(Surat al-An'am: 43)
In those times when the heart is soft
Islam has inspired people to do something to overcome the hardness of the heart. That is:
1. To recite more and more: The remembrance and remembrance of Allah removes the hardness of the human heart and creates tenderness and liveliness in it. Removes heartache and brings peace. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): Surely the remembrance of Allah calms the hearts. '(Surah Rad, Ayat 27)
2. Doing public welfare work: Standing by the side of foodless people, turning one's hand on the head of an orphan or miserable person removes the hardness of heart. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘If you want to soften your heart, feed the poor and put your hand on the head of the orphan.’
3. Visiting graves: Visiting graves, discussing graves and resurrection day awakens the fear of Allah in the hearts of people. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged people to visit graves. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Visit the grave, for it will remind you of the Hereafter.’ (Saheeh Ibn Majah, hadeeth: 1285)
4. Crying in the court of Allah: Hardness of heart is a kind of punishment and curse. The Prophet (peace be upon him) sought liberation from the hardness of heart in the court of Allah. He would pray, ‘O Allah! Surely I want you to be free from four things; A knowledge that does not help, a heart that is not afraid (of you), a soul that is not satisfied, a prayer that is not accepted. '(Sunan Nasai, Hadith: 547)
In addition, the hadith has instructed to go to see the sick person, to participate in the janaza, to indulge in luxury and to refrain from eating and drinking too much.
