There is a saying in Arabic, 'The most far-sighted or prudent person is the one who sees his own faults.' So it is very important for every believer to correct himself or to keep himself free from faults.

There are many people who criticize the faults of others. But it is more important to correct one's own faults before correcting others.

Most people are more anxious to correct others than to immerse themselves in delusions! This is not desirable to any believer. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

- 'Do you enjoin man to do good, and forget yourselves, while you recite the Book? Don't you still think? ' (Surat al-Baqara: verse 44)

There are many people who do not see their faults or cannot keep themselves free from faults despite their desire. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

- 'O you who believe! Think about yourself. When you are on the right path, there is no harm for you if anyone goes astray. ' (Surat al-Ma'ida: 105)

So first of all you have to free yourself from your faults. This is the inevitable demand of faith. The most important thing is to correct the mistakes that are spread among yourself. So you have to start correcting yourself.

First you have to find your own fault

The social system will be purified and improved only if we can find our own faults and mistakes. So you have to try to find out what are the faults or mistakes in yourself. It is most important for him to try his best. The name of this effort is Ihtesab or self-criticism. To think (critique) about oneself.

If a person tries to 'self-criticize' to find out his fault, he will see it. His faults will float in his eyes. Therefore, for self-criticism, one has to think about the responsibilities, duties, do's and don'ts, successes and failures, and good and bad deeds. Only by reckoning with one's good and bad deeds will all one's good and bad faults and virtues come out.

Remember

Allah Almighty has given man a special ability and power called conscience to think. By which man can judge good and evil. This conscience mirrors the good and the bad in him. The servant can also purify himself by the force of his conscience. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

'Rather, people know themselves very well.' (Surah Qayamah: verse 14)

Hazrat Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say, 'Take account of yourselves before you face reckoning (in the Hereafter) and measure yourselves before you meet (in the Hereafter). Because, making your own calculations today is much easier than making your own calculations in the future. And be prepared for the great test. Because Allah says,

'On that day you will be presented (before Allah for reckoning and recompense), then nothing will be hidden from you.' (Musannef Ibn Abi Shaybah, Muwatta Malik)

Therefore, every believing Muslim should try to find his own faults and correct himself from them. To make the life of the hereafter beautiful. Emphasis on success in this world as well as in the hereafter. At every moment it is necessary to try to correct oneself before the great Lord and to repent more and more to death.

If there is interest or effort among the believing Muslims to correct themselves, the society will gradually become free from filth. Injustice and crime will decrease. Every life in this world and the next will be beautiful. Both worlds will be beautiful and successful.

May Allah grant the Muslim Ummah the Tawfeeq to be free from their faults and mistakes. Give tawfiq to find out your mistakes and avoid them. Donate tawfiq to walk in the right path. Amen.
