Mufti Zia Ahmad Qadri Rizvi says: In the place of gentleness and hardness in love, hardness is called good character. (Tafsir Mohi-ud-Din in Defense of Khatam-un-Nabiyyin 2/3)
While reading the book at night, Mufti Sahib said this very sweetly. It is as if closing the river in a jar has given the shortest but most comprehensive definition of moralityy.
Our beloved Prophet was the embodiment of morality. While we see in the Sira of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) the great qualities of the Prophet's kindness, compassion and mercy, we must also see that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) himself came twice against the sophisticated infidels. He sent the Companions away. If the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) left behind two things, knowledge and swords, not wealth and property, then is it immoral for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? By no means! This is the true meaning of burning up of bad psychic imprints. According to the hadith, Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqah was asked about the morals of the Holy Prophet. He said that the morality of the Holy Prophet was the Qur'an. He termed the Qur'an as the morality of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). If the Qur'an mentions prayer, fasting, zakat, Hajj, the great creation and the mercy of the worlds, then the same Qur'an mentions jihad and the sword and condemns the Jews, the Christians, the polytheists, the hypocrites and the blasphemous prophets. I had also submitted in a post a few days ago that "the Holy Prophet's mercy and good character include the swords of the Holy Prophet." So the blessed morality of the Holy Prophet is still in front of all Muslims today and that is the Holy Quran. Therefore, those liberals and seculars and Maulvis who only preach peace in the morning and evening should open the Qur'an once again and read it so that their fourteen classes become enlightened.
May Allah Almighty help us to understand the true nature of the religion and the true virtues of the Holy Prophet.
